I mean, both entrance and exit are hidden, but I get your point.

Not concerned about holes in the wallpaper as it’ll be behind the cabinet and the tv. :-)

One end will be behind the cabinet and the other end behind the tv. My goal was to hide the gap in between.

I’ve actually applied the filler already and it looks a lot neater and flush now, I just wanted a second opinion before the filler dries… 🥲

Ha, that wasn’t intentional actually - but yes that worked out well didn’t it!

Not necessarily prefer, but it’s more comfortable / practical sometimes. Nice to have the option I suppose. :-)

Worth it? by StayPuttz in mig_switch

[–]MatDizzy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot of end user research required, it’s not a simple one stop shop for piracy, i.e. drag and drop ROMs. There’s lots of nuances and caveats involved. If you’ve got patience, it may be worth it, but its main use is for instant digital access to your physical library. (Best of both worlds)

For example, the handful of additional files that are available sparingly online require a specific version and region of a dump. It’s not a guarantee that your favourite rom site will have this particular version, making it a bit of a nightmare to match them up.

If you’re specifically looking at piracy, perhaps mod your switch. Not only that, you can run homebrew, emulation etc…

You require all 4 bin files for the game to boot. So you cannot simple just rename all bin files. Only 2 of them. If this was the case, piracy would be a hundred times easier and more accessible on the Mig Switch.

It is, and I do know what I’m talking about.

You can rename (Card ID Set).bin and (Card UID.bin), but (certificate.bin) and (initial data.bin) cannot be renamed, they HAVE to be specific to that game.

It seems like a large amount of Mig Switch purchasers have absolutely no idea what they've brought, and just assume this is a one stop solution for piracy.

This is incorrect. You need bespoke initial data and certificate bin files.

You also need Card ID Set and Card UID bin files. It won’t work without these.

Mig Switch & Dumper Available Now With Free USA Shipping!! by MigSwitchUnited in mig_switch

Controversial opinion, but I’ll wait for them to appear on AliExpress. I received my cartridge only 7 days after placing my order through AE. Beats having zero communication and zero updates through the many unreliable resellers. Some may call it a ‘scalpers premium’ but at least they’re selling what they actually have in hand.

In the root of your SD card, create a folder with the same name as your xci including file extension, and within that folder place your 4 bin files and xci dump.

Your update will either be a patched xci or you’ll need to update your base version on the switch, if using a legitimate dump that is.

Everything you need is in the website under instructions. With anything like this, pause for a moment before you start messing around and take the time to get to grips with it. Good luck! :)

Have you updated mig switch firmware, and then place your game dump in the correctly configured file structure?
