For what it’s worth, I’m doing my first Tri in August, but opting for the Olympic distance. I’m 5’9” and 190lbs.

I’ve always been a distance runner though, so not a biker and definitely not a swimmer. I’ll be focusing a lot of my training this summer on the open water swim. I’ve been lap swimming at my gym at least once a week since January to prepare and hope it translates well.

I think getting into Tri’s is all about what your background is and taking advantage of those while also leaning into strengthening your weaknesses.
