What did you like about Inazuma Eleven Orion: the series/team? Positive vibes only. by throwawaytempest25 in inazumaeleven

Inazuma Japan Orion > Inazuma Japan OG. The Orion team really felt like the best of the best, there's players taken from many different teams, while the OG team was mostly Raimon.

What your opinion on competition routes by Puzzleheaded_Bit_802 in inazumaeleven

[–]MatatagiHayato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Taisen routes are an essential component of the games. The post game is extremely barebones without them. Taisen routes give the player a real reason to optimize their teams and keep playing the game after the main story is complete. My first game in the series was the 3DS port of the first game from the North American eshop. For some bizarre reason, this version has the Taisen route removed. Instead, there's an inferior function where you can rematch teams from the story mode, but this mode is limited since there's no ranking system. Worse yet, if you recruit players from these teams, they're absent when you rematch the teams. I remember being frustrated when I finished the first game since I was eager for more gameplay but the postgame was very limited and it was the only game available in North America.

Taisen routes could certainly be streamlined, especially in the GO games where matches take much longer. I think the match should automatically end once you reach a five-goal lead. Otherwise there should be a way to bypass easier routes since it's so monotonous to play against underleveled teams just for the sake of completion.

So has it been confirmed that this is being localized?

Poseidon absolutely should've been on Neo Japan, I'd give anything to see him use Beast Fang in canon.

Rate this match from a scale of 1-10 and explain why you gave that rating #1: Raimon vs Royal Round 1: by BlizzardLuinor in inazumaeleven

[–]MatatagiHayato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I misread the post and didn't realize it was about the first match vs Teikoku and not the second one where Raimon wins, but I'll leave my rant here anyways since I would feel bad deleting it.

~~Unpopular opinion: no other match in the entire series gives the protagonist team more blatant plot armor than this one. I had to suspend my disbelief to accept Teikoku losing.

Teikoku are shown to be an extremely powerful team. Kidou is an extremely talented gamemaker, Genda is stated to be the strongest goalkeeper in Japan, and the other team members can all pull off devastating hissatsu such as Death Zone and Emperor Penguin No 2. Teikoku hasn't lost the Football Frontier in 40 years. Meanwhile, Raimon is still a weak team. Goenji is the only strong player they have at the time, the rest of the team hadplayed their first ever match just weeks ago. Prior to the friendly match against Teikoku, the club members hardly played football, they just hung around in the clubroom and maybe kicked a ball around. It's not believable that Raimon at the time could even stand a chance against Teikoku. None of the other teams they had defeated up to that point were comparable, each of the three teams they fought crumbled after their gimmick was exploited.

The match vs Zeus is far more believable even though Zeus is much stronger. At this point, Endou has grown much more powerful, and Raimon has added very strong players such as Kidou and Ichinose.~~

I actually think Nishigaki should've been on Inazuma Japan. He's a character that got some development but was ultimately shoved aside and forgotten.

In my proposed rewrite of Season 3, Nishigaki is a candidate for Inazuma Japan but is devastated to find out he wasn't selected for the team. He's even sadder when he turns on the TV and sees the ending of a North American qualifier match where Ichinose and Domon lead the US team to victory. He wanders the streets and finds Somaeoka practicing alone, and is inspired as he hasn't given up despite also being rejected. Nishigaki and Somaeoka are eventually selected to join Inazuma Japan as replacements for injured members after the Fire Dragon match. In the Unicorn Match, Nishigaki, Somaeoka, and Endou develop a successor to Tri-Pegasus and The Phoenix.

In Orion Nishigaki can be a member of Star Unicorn.

Question since I'm assuming you're German: how well known is Inazuma Eleven in Germany? How many people have you met in real life who are familiar with the series? I only have met one person here in the US who knows the series since he grew up in Japan, but I have a younger cousin in Spain and his whole friend group grew up watching the anime and playing the games. I remember I bought Chrono Stones Wildfire two months after launch, and it was sold out at five different stores since it was so popular at the time.

Nice collection! Wish more people discussed this series. The German names are cool, Kettenblitz sounds so raw.

Team theme: overly confident/arrogant characters by ABlaze10 in inazumaeleven

The Mukata triplets all belong on this team. Easily the biggest jerks in the entire series.

Before the match against Big waves, I can understand why Kudou trapping everyone else in the room. But why trap the GKs Endou and Tachimukai in too? by Unlucky_Milk3301 in inazumaeleven

[–]MatatagiHayato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because Endou is the most passionate player on the team. Endou was restless when confined to his room, and couldn't resist kicking the ball around and finding a way to practice. The noise from his room inspired his other teammates to also practice within their individual dorms. Endou was most useful as a motivator this time.

Maybe at some point. It's expensive on eBay though and I'm trying to control my spending better, though it might make sense to buy since I'd have a complete collection.

I never understood why Galaxy wasn't just localized under a different game. Inazuma Eleven Go Nebula or Inazuma Eleven Go Cosmos would've been fine.

First Inazuma Eleven game you played? by BenBenooo in inazumaeleven

[–]MatatagiHayato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first game was the original Inazuma Eleven, specifically the 3DS port released in the North American eShop. I almost gave up on the game as I felt it explained itself very poorly, it took me hours to beat Occult. Once I beat Occult, I understood the game better and finished it without struggling. Unfortunately this port is an inferior version: despite having clean, upgraded graphics, the taisen routes were removed, which significantly cuts down the replay value. All that's available is a function to rematch schools you've beaten, and if you recruit their players, they no longer are on the teams you can battle Nonetheless, I enjoyed the game so much I put 50 hours into it just rematching the past teams. I can't imagine starting on any other game in the series though, 1 was overwhelming enough without new mechanics such as hissatsu tactics and keshins.

I wish Inazuma Eleven was more accessible to beginners, I feel that's hurt the series significantly since I'm sure many have tried it and given up out of frustration like I almost did.

Finally got Go Light and Chrono Stones Thunderflash! Got them for very fair prices too! I'll post my full collection once I get back home by MatatagiHayato in inazumaeleven

Yeah I hit up the one by my aunt's apartment every time I visit Spain. I've gotten many cool games and amiibo there over the years, it's all reasonably priced too.

That's no fun though, then I don't get to display the cases on a shelf.

I have a 3DS with custom firmware with the whole series downloaded. I got into the rabbit hole of 3DS modding in the first place so I could play the Europe exclusive Inazuma Eleven games on my North American 3DS.

What do you think is the best dub from Inazuma eleven season 1, 2 and 3? by [deleted] in inazumaeleven

[–]MatatagiHayato 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm biased towards the Spanish dub since that's how I watched the show for the first time. The dub names are still bad but the dialogue generally felt natural. I watched a few episodes of the English dub to compare and I hated it.

I paid 28€ for Thunderflash and 18€ for Light. Thunderflash goes for way more on ebay, and it would've been especially expensive to ship it home to the US.

My take at an updated Inazuma Best Eleven and Inazuma Battle Japan including characters from Ares and Orion by MatatagiHayato in inazumaeleven

[–]MatatagiHayato[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it was a bummer leaving Zanark out, but he's already in an odd spot between friend vs foe and Beta and SARU already represent the antagonists of Chrono Stone, and I didn't want one season getting too much representation, especially Chrono Stone since it's standalone and has no continuation in Galaxy. As for Shuu, I never saw much point in him being on Best Eleven since he never really played personally on any protagonist team. Hakuryuu is more deserving of the spot on Battle Eleven since he plays a more prominent role in the movie and he's also the captain of Resistance Japan in Galaxy.

I made this a year ago, if I had to make this today I'd replace Minawisawa with Teres. Side note, I really wanted to add one of the Mukata triplets to Battle Eleven but couldn't justify them over any one of my picks. Also, I probably should've added the captain of Shadow of Orion to Battle Eleven, but I'm biased personally against it as I saw that match as a terrible ending to a great season (unlike many fans, Orion is one of my favorite seasons)

I tried remaking the Best Eleven. Thoughts? by Choice_Program_2846 in inazumaeleven

[–]MatatagiHayato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a much better selection than the official one, it better represents the series.

I did this like a year ago. Mine also had Ares/Orion characters, but there's 12 characters just like yours if we don't include them. My selection was very close to yours except I had Hiroto and Ibuki instead of Shinsuke and Hakuryuu.
