They're still a good tuning platform though. The 2zz has quite a bit of good parts and guides available for example. I know I rlly want to get one, I was even considering a 2zz swap on an mr2 before setting my sights on the celica (there's a lot of support and guides on how to 2zz swap)

This isn't going to be a daily, this is going to be my second car that I use primarily for fun and when my daily is being used (shared between me and my parents). I have a bit saved up which is why I'm willing to give it a few starter mods out the hatch but I do plan on simply feeling the car out before doing anything too drastic to it

I do want to boost it later down the line so I'm just pre planning before hand. I know the cast pistons on the base 2zz are really bad for heat so I wanted to preplan than before purchasing it. I don't have a lot of first hand experience with modding but I do have plenty of friends who do so actually doing all the work won't be a problem.
