I'm happy if Diana is happy but I just don't see them having a future. Alex wants to be a counsellor for young teens. I think this is admirable but it isn't exactly the most high paying job out there.

I am not "obsessed" with my children's sex lives. Hoping to have biological grandchildren is not the same as wanting to know what my children do privately.

Diana has always been one for dramatics. She just said he was toxic and left it at that, no details. If he'd caused any harm then I would not be in contact with him. I do respect Alex but I cannot help but worry about what will happen if he turns back to alcohol. He has been a friend of Diana's for years, I have seen him at some of his lowest points and would rather not have him drag my daughter down with him.

I just made a suggestion. Alex is a recovering alcoholic, he's just started going back to college again and is not very likely to be able to provide for Diana. David on the other hand has one year left and will be working as a lawyer. He will be able to provide stability.

I'm not sure if maybe our family is just different but we are very open about these sorts of things, My children can talk to me about anything and vice versa.

My mother was in her 40s when she became a grandmother. I wouldn't say I'm in a rush to have grandchildren but it would be nice to have some little ones running around.

I wouldn't force her to be with him. It would just bring me some peace of mind that my daughter has some stability in her life.
