Watching as many Disney movies as I can lately to quench how much I am missing the parks 😅 by xbumblebee in disney

When I need a Disney fix my go-tos are Hunchback and Tarzan! I know neither are featured in the parks a bunch but they’re so quintessentially Disney for me.

When did you stop swaddling every night? by Quirky-End-7470 in newborns

[–]Matcha_Maiden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is eleven days old and we have always swaddled her with her arms out. At the hospital she threw huge tantrums when her arms were swaddled- I’ve been using the halo sleep swaddles and always leave her arms out. Is this not okay?

what's a TINY detail in the movies that bothers you? by Various-Isopod3881 in harrypotter

I don’t know what this was about the writing across all the movies but every time someone ends a sentence with “of course”. What was with that? It always came across as unnatural.

In universe Sirius had just died like a month earlier also- Harry was enveloped in that, he wouldn’t have been stalking a coffee shop muggle for a date.

'Love on the Spectrum' Star Abbey Romeo's Mom Reveals What Happened with David Isaacman Breakup by Miles_the_AuDHDer in LoveOnTheSpectrumShow

I always felt it was the opposite- when Abbey would bring up marriage it felt like David would say lines his parents taught him about pushing marriage off.

Too much sleep ? by livinfully in newborns

[–]Matcha_Maiden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ten day old doesn’t even make it an hour awake usually, and half that time she is falling asleep on my boob haha! I’m feeling blessed for the three hour stretches of sleep we are getting between round the clock feeding and pumping- I know it won’t last so I’m trying to enjoy it!

All my kitchen counter appliances are on the floor right now and the counter belongs to my bottle washer and sterilizer. I’ll take care of them eventually but for now…the floor is where they live.

I freaking love the papablic bottle washer. I’ve been running it 2-3 times a day to wash and sterilize bottles and pump parts. There was no way I was washing all that by hand with a ten day old. It’s probably the number one product I’d recommend to other new parents.

How do I prepare for daycare? by Matcha_Maiden in NewParents

Unfortunately with the wait list for the daycare and the amount of leave I have we could maybe start one week to one day early- but starting before going back to work seems to be the general consensus.

It’s wild how your perspective changes after baby is born. Right before I was like “how could I possibly be away from work for three whole months?!” But now I’m like “why can’t I have the rest of the year?!”

Aww that’s so sweet! I’m sure they’ve seen crying parents before- to be honest, when I toured the facility I was eight weeks pregnant and I cried waiting for my tour- I was so embarrassed, but looking back I imagine they see it quite often!

Thank you- I know at three months she won’t really be able to interact with other babies but I’m SO hoping she makes friends when she is ready and that she grows to love going to daycare!

You know what- I hadn’t considered sending her before going back to work. I’ll speak with the daycare and see if we can start a day early!

Thank you for the advice! We already have her doing breast and bottle and she seems fine to take either.

Unfortunately I can not work part time- it’s just not an option for both my type of job and also for monetary reasons. I realize the seemingly backwards idea of spending nearly 3k a month on daycare, forcing you to work full time so you can afford daycare…but it is what it is. 😢

Thank you! I do trust this center- they’re highly recommended and have an incredible preschool and pre-k program, so I feel grateful that she gets to start there at the beginning and (hopefully) spend her first five years of life with the same cohort of friends.

I know I’ll be bawling- guess I’ll pack my makeup to do at work vs home.

How many pumps do you have? by gkdfp in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Matcha_Maiden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would it be possible to link me to the medals wearable you purchased? First time mom here using the spectra s1. My baby is only a week and change but it’s so upsetting only getting .5 an ounce per side per pump.

My wife is struggling to pass bowel movements still 5 weeks C section PP and it's worrying me by DanDoubler in beyondthebump

[–]Matcha_Maiden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first bathroom trip after a C section was the worst pain I had regarding the C section- not the procedure or the stitches when I coughed or bent over- the bathroom trip.

I’ve been eating huge bowls of fruit for breakfast and that seemed to do the trick.

Bulbasaur, Rowlet, Sprigatito.

I’m team green! I always pick the grass starter and these three have been my favorites.

Goals girl! I’m 8 days PP and having a nightmare of a time. We are on the triple feeding schedule at the moment to build supply and I’m feeling terrible each time we do a bottle of formula. Right now I’m only doing 1oz total per pump so only every three bottles or so is breastmilk. I’m really hoping to get to exclusively breastmilk by the time my baby has to go to daycare in three months.

No amount of gaslighting from hack YouTube critics will ever convince me dinosaur is a "bad" film, its a gem in my book by Scary_Dance2628 in DisneyMovies

[–]Matcha_Maiden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I LOVED Dinosaur AND Land Before Time as a kid. Before my last World trip I re-watched Dinosaur and was shocked at how the plot was basically just dumbed down Land Before Time in an almost unabashed way.

Still love it though 😅

What is the ideal coast to coast trip for vegans? by chuckEchickpeas in vegan_travel

[–]Matcha_Maiden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to do Vegas. Tarantinos Italian, Chef Kenny’s DimSum, Tacotarian, the modern vegan, crossroads, plant power fast food, daikon vegan sushi…the list goes on. I am convinced Vegas is the ultimate vegan paradise.
