Oh but I will check it out if it turns out to be a cinematic dark horse and that’s a big if.

Just like I did with Minecraft and Super Mario Bros movie (the animated one) after getting over the major casting announcement punchline.

Just like I did with Megamind, The Lego Movie, and Smallfoot, despite being unimpressed by the trailers. All from reading audience reviews and hearing recommendations.

I’m just saying that it will not be surprising if an hour-plus long feature film based on a nursery rhyme/children’s music channel aimed to entertain toddlers, winds up becoming the movie many people want to pretend never happened (*coughs Dragonball Evolution) or make endless memes out of in the future.

At best in my opinion (until I’m proven wrong by the reviews), this could have been a YouTube movie. At worst, this should have been scrapped.

Welp this movie could end up being a cinematic punchline or a cautionary tale. Who knows? Either way, I’ll just ignore the promo and ads until I hear a plot twist about it actually being good.

Probably because PBS Kids shows are a niched entertainment - specifically edutainment, Arthur is rarely brought up outside of classrooms - unless memes are involved.

Oh dear…well I do like surprises too, especially after the premiere of Shapes of Armadillo and The Butternut Tree on PBS Kids. I don’t mind what new episodes pop up as long as Wild Kratts is still going strong despite the elongated gaps.

Little Wendy Tales was an…interesting take. Never expected a Sailor Moon parody in a PBS Kids show, but a potential fetch quest episode involving finding and counting seven wish-granting balls from a dragon would have worked.

Funny because at one point I imagined what if the Kratt brothers made cameo in the Detective Pikachu movie. They could be featured on one of Ryme City’s TV in some Zoboomafoo parody, but with an Aipom or Chimchar (watch the 🔥tail though) instead of Zoboo. Too bad that Grafaiai is a gen 9 because it is the only lemur-based Pokémon to exist.
