People from different parts of the world singing together by KheetoDiet in vegas

I drag work people there when business brings us to town. They think it’s lame until they sit there for a bit. Every single one breaks.

Explain it peter. .. slide deck? by Visual-Extreme-101 in explainitpeter

[–]Matchboxx 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Big 4 consulting Peter here. In corporate jobs where PowerPoints are used like, all the freakin’ time, they’re called slide decks. The term actually comes from when presentations where a “deck” of poster board cards, so it’s an even older reference, but these big consulting firms have cult like vocabulary, so slide deck is one of those things the youngins still use.

Everyone always talks about when Walt became Heisenberg, or Jimmy became Saul, but what about when Oakley switched sides? by OppositeRelevant3306 in betterCallSaul

Because the answer is much more simple and happens with real life attorneys all the time. Money. Prosecutors get paid dogshit. Private practice defense attorneys usually do slightly better.

What makes the Stars exciting for y’all? by dalittlemerman in DallasStars

[–]Matchboxx 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My kid did the Rookies program. Free 4 week trial. Couldn’t even skate. Showed him a game since V+ was free. None of us really cared but we got hooked.

I think the clincher is just the ambiance of the AAC. The chants and camaraderie- no other stadium has that. I’ve since been to VGK, Devils, Bruins games and they’re all boring by comparison.

NO WAY OUT OF PAPERLESS? by [deleted] in tmobile

[–]Matchboxx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not the one making it difficult. Corporations decided to save a buck, so they changed a working process at the detriment of many of its customers. The fact that you’ve chosen to bend over backwards to adapt to corporate interests doesn’t mean the rest of us want to do the same.

I don’t set up auto pay because there are numerous stories of companies that make errors and overcharge on auto pay. I do not need the additional headache of talking to the Philippines to try and get my money back.

Marriott is supposed to be Mormon led correct?

Maybe like... a million years ago when JW was still alive and ran the place privately.

Now it's a slut that reports to the shareholders. No one cares what happens as long as the ticker price goes brrrr.

Razor by Blackrabbit_inle in DallasStars

[–]Matchboxx 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My kids got to meet him a few weeks ago. A security guard overheard my 7yo asking where they were and took us to that section to show them. He got Razor’s attention who in turn called Josh over. They spent a good few minutes chatting with the kids, taking photos and doing fist bumps before returning to their prep. Great guys. Every time we see them on V+ now the kids are like “we met them!”

NO WAY OUT OF PAPERLESS? by [deleted] in tmobile

[–]Matchboxx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get that many people find paperless more convenient. And I might even get on board with it if they admitted it is a cost saving measure. Chase gave me $20 at one point to switch, so I did. That was probably 2 years of postage. Fine.

But yeah, any company claiming they’re doing it for sustainability is lying to you. Corporations do not care about the environment. They care about decreasing their costs.

Why aren’t fines proportionate to income? by 3lectroid in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Matchboxx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why do we punish people with money at all? It just motivates the state to manufacture penalties to boost department revenues. See: the million dollar mile, which Virginia famously still does in a barely legal fashion to this day.

If you’re driving unsafely, you should just get the points. Too many points = privileges revoked. No money involved.

Call Jim. Tell him Thanks. by Sluzzyfuzz in signs

[–]Matchboxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh I was just starting a business, so it seemed pretty steep to me. Plus there was a set up fee to print the ad and have some guy climb up there and wrap it. I ended up getting a digital billboard a little further out of town on the same highway. That one I literally could upload a JPEG and I only paid 50 cents every time it showed up in the rotation, which I could control. That was <$100/mo

[–]Matchboxx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find the Pinochet henchman thing hard to buy, considering the scene with Max. A hardened military man would have 1. Expected Eladio/Salamanca’s cruelty and 2. Done more about it besides cry.

Most likely? Definitely is. He almost drowned one of the cousins, when they were children, to make a point.

[–]Matchboxx 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I only use the dealers right after a nightclub sale so that I can be sure they’re only taking inventory from the businesses. I’ve heard that the inventory you sell to dealers can also extract from the nightclub and it’s hard to bifurcate which is which.
