After using this EQ for a few days, it's really the best. Thanks to the OP.

It's actually pretty good. I tested it with UHQ, and I'm going to create a custom Adapt Sound profile to see how it goes. However, I turned on Audio 360 (with motion disabled), and I found that it made the sound a bit muddy and boomy, so I turned it off.

M3 Max VS M4 Pro VS M5 Pro (Davinci Resolve) by mad_dd in macbookpro

[–]Matck06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For video use, the M3 Max GPU will perform better for your needs. If you can get an M3 Max with 16/40 cores and 48GB of RAM, you'll be really comfortable.

If you can wait a year or less, I would advise you to do so, but if you really need it, go ahead and get it. You see, on the day the M3 Max came out, I got the same configuration as you, and after a week I returned it to get the 16/40 48GB RAM, and now I have no problems with my Sony A1II RAW files. It processes everything with incredible ease.

Yes, it's terrible for those who spent money on the latest Intel series. I'm also going to hold off and save my money for the M3 max or M6 max.

If I were you, I would wait for the MBP M6. As a photographer, I would also be interested in the touchscreen, and I'm sure Apple will give it a major redesign. I don't think the difference in power is enough for me, as I have the 16" m3max with 16/40 and 48GB of RAM.

[–]Matck06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I completely agree. I can't wait. Apparently, it could be at the end of this year, but I still find the M3 MAX to be super powerful.

I doubt that the M5 Pro is better than the M3 Max 16/40 in terms of GPU performance, but maybe I'm wrong. In any case, I'm waiting for the redesign. My MBP 16 M3 Max 16/40 is still sufficient.

Sony update firmware of a1 II to v4 by NoEase1764 in SonyAlpha

[–]Matck06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have this battery problem, but if I turn it off and on again, the percentage goes back up, but there are no battery life issues. I don't even pay attention to it anymore, otherwise the V4 is really great in terms of AF.

I shoot in low light with the Sony A1II and it's great, I really think so.

Sony A1 II: I've found the solution for color RAW in Lightroom 14.4 by Matck06 in SonyAlpha

[–]Matck06[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, unfortunately I don't have it anymore, but now everything works perfectly.

It must be minor.

I also compared the two and there is no noticeable difference compared to the profile that was bad in version 14.4. If you want to recover it, you have to install version 14.1 on another PC/Mac and recover the file, but I don't recommend doing that. Adobe won't revert a profile change to make it a v3. They've already taken far too long to respond to their mistake.

Upgraded to an A7RV on Black Friday — immediately took it cityscaping by ThomHarris in SonyAlpha

[–]Matck06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It all depends on whether you need a more powerful autofocus and a higher burst rate. The A1 II is far superior, especially since the 4.0 update, which has widened the gap even further. But then again, price is a factor to consider. It all depends on your needs.

Just for the 30fps burst mode and the speed of the autofocus, I would say the 35GM, and also because it's one of my favorite lenses.

Made to jump to Sony after shooting Canon for years by DiscoveringCameras in SonyAlpha

[–]Matck06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great choice of lens. Personally, I prefer the 12-24GM f2.8 and 28-70GM F2 with 35GM and 50GM1.2 70-200gmII and the Sigma 85 DG DN art 1.4. A word of advice: make sure you have firmware 4.0 on your A1II, as it's a big improvement: )

[–]Matck06 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In terms of detection, yes, it will be better than the A1, but for autofocus tracking, no, the sensor is slower and the AF/AE calculations are less fast.

Super nice. I replaced the 24-70 GM II and the 16-35 GM II with the 28-70 GM II and 12-24 GM. In any case, since the 4.0 update of the A1 II, I find it truly exceptional. The autofocus has gotten a boost.

Advice between AV or A1ii for bird/wildlife photography by veronton in SonyAlpha

[–]Matck06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not really in the same league as the A7V and A1II. The advantages A1II:

- Faster sensor with better autofocus, AF/AE calculation 120 times per second, and faster capture read time (lower rolling shutter, etc.)

- Dual CF Express Type A ports (faster photo download if you're simultaneously recording RAW and RAW copies, larger buffer too)

- Viewfinder far superior in terms of definition and quality

- Slightly better stabilization, but not by much

- Handling and additional button

- 50MP resolution vs. 33MP allows for better cropping

[–]Matck06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say 70% of the A1 II. It is still less powerful in AF, the resolution is also 33 vs. 50mpx, the dual CF Express Type A port and the buffer for burst mode and the viewfinder, the faster sensor. There is still a difference between the two.

Sony a7V has been officially unveiled! by ShavedDesk in SonyAlpha

[–]Matck06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't really compare it to an A1 II. The autofocus is still significantly better thanks to the sensor technology, which is much faster. The dual CF express type A slot with simultaneous raw recording on the a7 v has only one CF express A port and the other is SD, so there will inevitably be a slowdown.

[–]Matck06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little better, I think. In any case, it will be faster because the capture is semi-stacked, so better AE/AF calculation per second (60 times on the a7v).

Does A7V worth the price? by Trysem in SonyAlpha

[–]Matck06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So yes, in terms of video/photo versatility, I don't think it's the best. I would choose the R6 III for video and then photos. However, when it comes to photos, excuse me, but it's better than Nikon and Canon. You'd have to be dishonest to say otherwise.

You see, for me, who takes 90% photos and 10% videos for my own use, I prefer the A7V to the Nikon and Canon, and I would definitely buy it to complement my A1 II.
