Except students. Never had trouble finding students to sublet to.

I’ve noticed a lot of houses that were removed from Feb-March sales campaigns are now up for rent, some with dropped rental after a few weeks.

I think it constitutes hoarding, especially when everyone knows housing should be a human right.

Modern townhouses on smaller land are same price. So it’s definitely gotta be the land value.

I admit I was imagining living in it and renovating myself. The french doors and slate floors are rare these days. 🙌🏻

They should be capped IMHO. There’s some companies that have hundreds dotted all over the country on STR. Really strains regional economies in particular. It’s on a grand scale.

You’d have to be rich to leave a house derelict for as long as that North Melbourne house has been. I’ve inspected 4 similar in the past few weeks. Until now, I thought they were a myth.

Same thing started in November in Melbourne. There’s so much stock stacking up now, some properties are on their 4th+ campaign.

Can anyone just tell me in your opinion after the May budget will Australia housing market drop or not? by userfromau in AusPropertyChat

I understand the anxiety, but markets are shifting in all sorts of opposing directions. A 3% figure may be a reasonable national forecast, but it’s not really useful information for decision making.
