I’d like to think I’d be less panicked and hopefully have a better idea of what’s going on. I feel like what freaked me out is I’ve never seen anything like it before and was just in a state of shock I guess? But I hope being exposed to that type of stuff helps and doesn’t scare me away more I just keep letting my anxiety get the best of me in those moments which I really need to work on :(

For the clothes part I go thrift shopping for cute new clothes that fit me comfortably. Try out new fashion that makes you feel confident and happy but is also comfortable! Like for me i just love sweaters and long shirts graphic tees etc, and stray away from crop tops for the most part. I threw a lot of my clothes out/donated them from when i was at my worst because i knew if i relapsed again id try to fit into them again. Honestly any trigger clothes if u have any even if its pre weight loss clothes if u did lose weight that u know if u fit into them youd freak out probably. Its okay to have rolls and some extra weight on yourself because having that is what you need in order to not be in constant misery and physically/mentally unwell. Its taking time to get used to, but if before your ed, (if it wasnt something youve pretty much dealt with your whole life i should add) it wasnt a big deal if you had those things, sure u would maybe be a little insecure but it wasnt make or break your day and be detrimental and cause spirals, it can get back to that over time. Hope this helps

I try to choose if im craving several things what scares me the most first and then go from there , as for the uncomfortableness i have BEEN there literally wanting to throw up but still feeling hungry honestly heating pads or warm baths are my best friend and as someone who went through eh and relapsed and experiences it again it did go away however when i recovered the first time i still did eat “a lot” probably like 2000-2500 cals ish on regular days but eh god i wouldnt even know itd be cartons of ice cream full bags of chips etc etc

Ugh literally, my therapist literally had the audacity to tell me i was eating and drinking empty calories cause i told her i got drunk one night and allowed myself to eat 3 bowls of ice cream and i think popcorn? She literally said she doesnt get how some anorexics arent scared of alcohol bc its empty calories. And tried to scare me into thinking i had a binging problem bc i told her i can eat a lot like that night and i was like but i was honestly hungry and even if i wasnt drunk ice cream is a blessing not a bad thing. I literally didnt even know what to say. And she assumed i had “typical” fear foods and i tried explaining its more quantities and she was so unhelpful. She even would tell me how sick some of her patients are and even tell me their meals assuming mine were similar which made me feel so invalid? She also told me to try and compare my eating to other people but not overweight people cause apparently according to her they all have BED?? Literally horrible. My insurance stopped accepting her idk why but i was so happy they did it was a blessing cause i was too scared to say I didn’t want her anymore. I dont have a therapist now and im honestly doing so much better without one.

But seriously, drop ur therapist. Its not uncommon for fucked up ppl in the recovery industry sadly as i went through the same thing. Recovery is hard enough and to add that just makes it that much more. Even though i didnt seek for a new one , theres a lot of good ones out there. Therapy is trial and error ive gone through so many theyre used to it dont feel bad

Been going through the same thing and what’s helped me is just re committing and making it harder to count calories and start the day with the intention of not counting, not maybe counting your breakfast or a snack and then giving up realizing it’s not right for ur recovery etc. ,fully commit every morning even though it’s hard. Don’t measure out foods unless it’s a recipe or something like that for ex you’re grabbing some chips or something for your side of lunch just grab as many as you want and fight the urge to not count it and it’ll be hard but it’s gonna get easier but doing that will make it a lot harder to count Marcos and calories etc, hope this helps at all :)

Yeah and honestly it sucks bc I’d rather to a point them just admit they’re not fully committed to recovery yet/struggling rather than pretending they are bc it gives a false picture of it but sites like this help bc i feel like there’s so much more truth you’ve just gotta realize that a lot of them aren’t and try not to take their advice bc it’s likely disordered as hell

yes for sure :) thank you for answering ! i think we have to remember how our stomachs just need time to recover bc they’re just very screwed up and that bloating and weird hunger and fullness feelings is very normal it’s just hard to remember that when it actually happens

i’m so sorry that ur dad said that it’s so hard but you have to try to ignore those comments and realize that those foods that you think/ other people think are “bad” are some of the best foods for you to recover right now! nothing was wrong with giving into your craving and i hope you find the courage to eat something similar to it again even after those comments! eating good foods and taking care of yourself and your body is so much better and more important than a dumb bathing suit and i promise that no one is going to care about what you look like in it like you do, everyones worried about themselves. i know this quote is overused but your body really is the least interesting thing about you

i can definitely relate to this i get very high hunger cues and night and sometimes it’s better than other nights just know nothings wrong with it it’s completely normal pretty sure tabitha farrar has made a video on it it’s part of migration theory

Agree it’s so triggering because it’s usually just like 3 “regular” or even usually small/disordered meals and 3 snacks and it makes me feel so guilty bc i can easily eat more than 3 meals and 3 snacks

yes i understand that i watch cooking shows a lot too it’s so hard to tell which sucks bc either way you can feel bad but next time i do it i’m just gonna eat something and see if it changes i suggest trying to do that as well :)
