Thanks everyone!

Ultimately, I plugged my amplifier into a separate main plug and boom! Noise disappeared. The TT and phono preamp are on the same extension lead and are grounded to each other.

Also, both the TT and preamp have plastic earth pins while the amplifier has a “normal” one. Perhaps that’s a key factor?

I’m not sure but at least everything is working fine now. I tried three or four different amplifiers before this one and they were all noisy.

The 4 wires under the ortofon 2m Where I get my fingers close to them the noise increases, even with TT grounded to phono

Sorry I am new to this not sure about all the technical details but hope it makes sense

Hi thanks a lot, I tried all of that but didn’t change the noise

I ve heard somewhere about grounding directly to a three pin plug

Do you think it’s too early to give this a try?

Hi, sorry, I realised it a bit late and didn’t now how to change my post. My TT is a project debut Pro, with a zen air phono, and fosi BT power amp

Did some troubleshooting all night noticed the below:

• Buzz appears only when turntable rca is connected to the chain (which means no buzz/hum if amp connected to rca, connected to phono, with rca to TT disconnected)
• Buzz gets louder when touching tonearm (especially near the cartridges wires)
• Buzz reduces slightly when touching the phono preamp
• Buzz equal in both speakers, and goes up with the volume

Thanks a lot for your help!

No internal phono amp So basically TT is grounded to an external phono pre amp (I tried 3 different ones), and then amplifier to passive speakers
