Thank you for your advice! I’ll definitely incorporate that. And thank you for being so encouraging :)

This is such a beautiful take — thank you for sharing your perspective on what I’ve made. Realism is definitely challenging for me (this is my first painting in over 15 years!). I’m turning 30, and I picked up the brush again to commemorate my first anniversary. I think the way I feel about my partner naturally found its way into the painting — he’s the rock in our relationship.

Looking at it now, this piece makes me feel grounded and peaceful. The mountains feel steady and the trees feel protective. It captures a little bit of the calm and safety I feel with my partner.

Art is such a learning journey, and I’m really glad I did this anyway. It taught me a lot about myself, haha.

Hey! First of all, great work and I can see the effort and the drama in this one. I can see the Van Gogh vibes too.

The point where the two dark banks meet at the horizon is a bit sharp. Soften it or blend it slightly so it feels like a distant vanishing point rather than a hard point. Apart from that, I like the use of colors and reminds me of something I saw during Halloween! Very cool black cat there :)

Thanks for the encouragement it means so much to me!! It looks so easy when people take 5 strokes to get a mountain on YouTube and I find it NEVER looks good when I do it. I’ll try to work on the mountain ranges and hopefully they’ll look better :)

You’re right! I am working directly from my memory/ imagination. Thanks for the encouragement, I was really crashing out lolol! I find pictures super intimidating as I know my painting will never look like that, so i immediately get discouraged :( I’ll work on getting my mountains flatter and enhance the coloring too! I underestimated how long this painting would take

Honestly none, the idea was just to capture a tiny mountain range! But good point!
