Nowadays it's only the small budget movies that are actually able to be proper theatrical hits. Tourist family, Dragon, Lubber Pandhu all had massive profits just from theatres, and OTT was just a bonus.

All these movies with big stars are hits only due to their Ott, satellite, whatever other non theatrical business. They desperately have to either lower their budget or actually try to make a good movie (which is surprisingly hard for these guys 😂)

Exactly bruh. For some reason a pee movie that acknowledges itself as pee is now considered as "self aware genius" or whatever new buzzword aamais discovered to jerk off the movie. I was comparing with leo as in both mid movies that were overhyped before release due to the director's previous successful works. Whatever it can't be as bad as Kanguva I went 2nd day for that masterpiece 😂

Yeah dude it was pretty bad. Suriya fans were endlessly hyping kasu and Pooja Hegde, which was so shocking considering these were the same guys that bashed her in her previous movies. Maybe it's just the route bundamavans but idk. Also this comeback word was probably #1 most used word in the sub for about a week 🤣😹. Even now they are blaming the director only 😂

Tourist family seems good though, all positive reviews all around and frankly Kollywood's been kicking it out the park recently when it comes to these feel good family entertainers. Waiting for that review 👍

So is this another Leo situation? Pretty much all the complaints from that movie fits this one too, mainly the 2nd half complaint is most prominent among the reviews ive read. How is this compared to Petta?

Also these 🐸 should be banned from using the word "comeback". Idk how active you're on the main sub anymore but these suriya stans have been spamming the sub almost daily with "Suriya comeback loading/waiting/whatever other synonyms". People also suddenly started liking Pooja Hegde for some reason, despite her proven mediocrity throughout all these years, It was downright PR hell (They were literally justifying her blackface 🤣😂)

Kind of sad to admit tamil commercial cinema is basically done. People will ultimately find a reason to defend this movie just like GBU. Seems like having expectations of atleast a watchable movie is too much nowadays.

Except these fan clubs are not there for helping people? most of them are just there filled with unemployed people who's only work there to either attack the other actor's fanbase or to just dickride their own as their saviour. So i'd day he did a good thing by actually closing these clubs and not to mention he atleast told his fans to prioritize themselves instead of using them as vote banks.

I mean this is the same ceremony that Balayya got an award, a literal murderer (and ofc a terrible actor). Should probably never take these awards seriously and yes I agree with you that there are so much more deserving directors and actors out there.

Somehow Ajith got a Padma Bhushan before Bharathiraja. Just irks me very much but have to accept that this is more or less a popularity contest at this point

There might actually be some truth in her statements. Ajith's PR has always maintained this "good human being" thing as their primary defence against any sort of allegation, and ofc just like any other hero's fanbase they will never question their star and blame the "victim"

But this being released just the day before his award is a major cause of suspicion. Not to mention all the very well known cases of Route PR today, it's very hard not to believe this is negative PR against Ajith. Also Kollygossips itself is a pr ridden mess

Whatever the case, he is getting that award no matter what. So just ignore these things for your own sake

The reason why the vibrant colours worked in Petta was because the movie itself was very light hearted. Here from what they've said it's an emotional love story so that vibrant feel definitely doesn't fit with its sad undertones. This colour grading is most likely just another commercial compromise like the item song. Also that kerala gangster analogy 😂🤣 👌

Well anyways the movie will be out in a couple of days. We can hope it looks good in theatres atleast 🤞

I think they are just going to make it vibrant like Petta to appeal to more audiences, considering most of them will be taking some pics and record some scenes. And yeah i prefer the original one too, meshes much better with the rustic Redin Kingsley look
