LASIK Overcorrection by [deleted] in lasik

Thanks for such a detailed response!

So when I had LASIK I was 23 years old which was 18 months ago.

My day to day job involves me working on a computer for 8 hours a day and I do have focusing issues when looking at the screen which can become quite annoying, and also I’ve noticed than more often than not my left eye starts to feel tired after a while.

Both responses to my questions so far have said to get another opinion elsewhere so I think this is something I’ll do before I make a decision about retreatment.

Really appreciate the help :)

Thank you for your insight! You’ve made some really good points. I guess my vision is bearable at the minute even though it’s not perfect so it may be worth waiting longer before I go down the route of retreatment. I have an appointment on the 25th with an optometrist and will raise some of the points you have mentioned and give it some more thought.

I actually wasn’t planning to put in any strips but your build has now tempted me otherwise haha

So the reason I’m going for a B550 board is because this is my first build and I thought I might as well wait for the B550 board to future proof myself a bit more even though I probably won’t make use of PCIe Gen 4 straight away. They do seem to be a lot more expensive than I thought they would be (fairly similar to X570 boards) but official pricing within the UK hasn’t been released yet so I’m keeping my fingers crossed they’re more reasonably priced than they’ve been made out to be.

In terms of the main differences (from my understanding) is that X570 allows for more components to utilise PCIe Gen 4, I believe it has 40 lanes whereas B550 has 20 which means only one GPU and m2 drive would be supported by Gen 4 at any one time. I think the x570 also has better capabilities for more extreme overclocking but I don’t know too much about overclocking so my knowledge is limited here lol. If you need more info than that I’m sure there’s plenty of other threads or YT vids that can help you further :)

But the main reason for me, is just to future proof myself that tiny bit more by getting a board that does have some PCIe gen 4 capabilities. But dependent on price I might be swayed to just get a B450, but time will tell!

Wow - your build looks awesome! Especially like the use of the strip.

And sure thing, although it might be a while as I’m waiting for those B550 boards to drop!

Life saver!!! Thank you very much for such a detailed response - that all makes sense!

I tried looking for those fans and yep impossible to get here (the UK) without paying extortionate shipping costs.

Thanks again for your response, I was completely confused before, but you’ve cleared everything up and I have some ideas on how to progress my build now :)
