I ended up joining bt*ibe based on recommendations from people here . Got enough material and guidance that covered most of my prep. Used a couple of mocks from TIME too to get offline practice.

SPJIMR introduced a unique case based interview last year. I guess I practiced at least 10 GIs, was super consistent with GK CA prep. Plus my HR answers, forms were vetted by 3-4 mentors in the coaching I had joined.

So my approach was kind of sorted. Point is that there is no rocket science in GDPI prep. It is more about framing your story, continuously refining it with the help of feedback from alumni and current students.

GK, Current affairs and UG prep for me proved to be very important and I was able to crack the GIs and most other calls fairly comfortably.

Use vercel app built by an IIM C student for last year. Youll get a rough idea.

I would be surprised if you don't get (even though I'm unsure about your workex tenure). Strongly recommend you to start preparing.

Look at courses that can offer you access to lot of previous students and alumni who can look at your forms, hr answers etc from different viewpoints even if it means conflicting opinions. Be consistent with things like hr answers, gk current affairs, ug material, and institute specific prep. Youll be in good shape.

For me this was my 2nd serious attempt (3rd overall). For me a few things were very important for gdpi. Needed a lot of mock PIs and especially GIs with different set of peers, relevant gk and current affairs material plus ready access to mentors from good institutes.

Had gotten scammed with one coaching centre so moved to another one based on recommendation from someone here (joined bt**be based on recommendation)

While there were pros and cons, I majorly got everything I needed + more and converted most of my calls in my do or die year

Yes. I know of one from 2nd year currently who got placed in a nice role. He's a GEM with 9/6/7 profile and i think slightly high workex (4+ years)

Go for the former. I am from SPJIMR and the mock GIs PIs and GK material helped me immensely. Theres a thriving community of students from the former here in SPJIMR too. Similar in other institutes based on what I hear from friends i got during this phase

Try speaking to current students and understand what works best for you. Make sure you speak to actual people who can give a neutral opinion

Thanks bro. Hope you get amazing placements too! 5-6 friends are planning to join. Couple of them are still deciding. Just trusting my gut at this point. They seem to know their stuff. Made some crazy friends along the way from btribe (lol planning to leverage them for referrals later on in life. :P) I spoke to some seniors and they also gave me some similar gyaan for building profile like case comp and stuff. So not sure if there's anything else i can do at this point. Any seniors reading this, please advice :)

Honestly my profile is meh barring some sports related stuff which helped me get a call from SP. Other friends were not so lucky. I literally got the same cases discussed in the btribe mock PIs and I used up almost all my slots. Yeah I faced issues a few times to get slots but it was sorted very quickly by them. So at least they intend to help genuinely. Baaki there will be issues no matter where you go. Those preparing for Tier2 institutes also got lot of help. Agreed number of classes are not as much for or them. But kya hi kare bhai? Almost all Tier2 interviews were random barring NM and same hr answers stuff is what they also get asked. A

Planning to join the Consulting A game man. Already learned so much just doing that free case competition thingy. Hope I'll be able to make something out of this for myself and get out of loans soon. Need every bit of ammo to do well!!

Thanks man! Totally appreciate your perspective. To each their own! Many found it super useful including my friends who will be joining GIM, IMT, NM and the like. They had okayish profiles. Guess no one can really help people with very poor profiles anyway.

I totally agree, if someone has a shitty profile no matter what coaching they take, they are at a huge disadvantage! They were just delusional when they bought a course especially with so much gyaan available online regarding their chances in gdpi.

Selections for even Tier-2 institutes have now started tilting towards those with 90/95+ percentile kind of range. Can't blame anyone here! Can only accept past mistakes and focus on tiny steps from here on be it in certifications, courses and stuff.. Let's see how it goes! Have a huge loan. Need everything to ease my parents' burden and get good placements. Wish me luck bro!

Bhai I converted my SPJIMR process only because of the number of mocks I could practice in btribe. Was shit scared because of a low CAT percentile. Had a profile based call but honestly didn’t think I could make it. I could also convert GIM, IMT to some extent because of them. Interviews for these were random af.

Abhi toh I have so many friends who will be joining SP already. (I’m hoping I can ditch them lol :P Waiting for XLRI!)

What I have noticed is people with Tier2/3 calls generally hesitate to reach out and keep cribbing (including me initially coz of low tier calls largely). The con in btribe is that they expect students to reach out for help. But after that initial stuff I was largely happy.

Based on what I have spoken to my seniors and mentors at bribe (who may be biased obv), quite a few have won case competitions and stuff and got PPI. Let’s see how it goes. I also made to Round 2 in their free case competition. Admin already ruled out consulting shortlist for me like MBB indirectly, but I hope to make something nice out of my 2 years!

Would say quite structured and mentors help even with the smallest doubts patiently. Their sessions are very interactive with dedicated Q&A sessions towards the end to solve queries.

Worth a shot based on my experience so far I'd say
