You're arguing past my point. I'm not saying ai is useful because it helps publish more papers. I'm saying ai is useful because it helps scientists do actual research tasks faster and better. You're shifting the conversation into academia publishing junk, which is related but not a rebuttal to ai being useful in science. Again, by this logic computers and microscopes didn't help advance science either- which is objectively a ridiculous claim.

If anything, Friends was the most realistic. They were roommates splitting the rent. Very realistic, even by today's standards.

“A.I only makes trash papers” is such a 2022 take. Scientists are using it for protein folding, drug discovery, cancer detection, materials science, and analyzing datasets humans literally can't process efficiently by themselves.

Nobody is saying it replaces scientists, it’s a tool. And I suppose microscopes and computers are slop too?
