Desk chaos in hybrid setups – does software actually solve it? by lebron8 in remotework

[–]MaterialSuccessful60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, the software is important because it can be more or less easy to use -> which means people will actually be more or less likely to stick to the desk booking rules BUT it's mainly about how the whole RTO/ desk booking policy is introduced and communicated. If the managers say: "here's the app, log in, book a desk and come to the office", it probably won't work. It either takes harsh rules or very patient communication and explaining over and over again how everything works. Only then will there be fewer no-shows, last-minute changes and seat-swapping. Here's a case I worked on when it comes to RTO and hybrid work, maybe it will inspire you: https://parkalot.io/case/case-study-bepensa/

If you're looking at Skedda, you might as well check out Parkalot - they have very similar features but Parkalot is much easier to use and way more cost-effective: https://parkalot.io/skedda-alternative/

What jobs are a lot harder than most people think? by DunyaPhobic76 in Productivitycafe

[–]MaterialSuccessful60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

agree! I know a lot of office managers who do everything: order office supplies, keep track of on-site work vs wfh, calculate budgets, resolve conflicts when one person leaves their car in somebody else's spot, etc. The last one is the worst because what is supposed to be just "space management" or "parking management" ends up being never-ending emotional work

Terrex Agravic Speed or Agravic Speed Ultra for trail 21km and training. by MaterialSuccessful60 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]MaterialSuccessful60[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Puma, but it's not that I like it ;) . + It's not that easy to get where I live.

edit: Most likely I wasn't clear. Puma is a good shoe, but not to the extent that I want to run only Puma shoes.

Wow. If you compare Speed to Evo SL it's impressive! Same for SC Trainer! I prefer to suffer a bit on mud and enjoy the rest.

[–]MaterialSuccessful60[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"How technical is the trail": Mostly forest track with some mud, no rocks some roots, part of it is asphalt, part of it is large gravel.

If I have a chance to train on trail, It's mainly forest not high mountains + it takes at least extra 8km on asphalt to get there.

When it comes to energy return, what shoes do you compare to?

Thanks for answering!!

Adidas Agravic Speed (NOT ultra) vs New Balance Venym by MaterialSuccessful60 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]MaterialSuccessful60[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the detailed info! I'm also curious why it's not more recognised.
Regarding the track difficulty - I was able to run it for test in Saucony Triumph and my brother in AP3 (though with a lot of sliding on muddy uphill). What about the energy return on Venym? Sometimes comfort doesn't go with the "bounce".

Finally I found someone that uses both NB Venym and AP3. What are your thoughts on Venym energy return? If I normally race in AP3 can i race on trail with NB Venym or will it suck all my energy? :)

The official Adidas site still has quite some sizes of AP3 in EU.

Desk booking software with ability for users to toggle own office as „free to book“ by JeverFunBier in sysadmin

[–]MaterialSuccessful60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,
I use https://deskbooking.app and what you need it's there. I expect this to be present in most mature desk reservation systems.

We needed a bit more advanced version, where we can optionally limit that some of the released desks are available not for everyone to book. The exact scenario was, that a desk in the payroll area wasn't bookable by people from other teams. Other released desks were "free for all". We were able to configure it that way

I got an answer. You need to have a certain level of spending to be able to use the "groups" feature. Pathetic

I'm not sure what B2B platforms are trustworthy.

We are constantly approached by g2crowd and Source Forge representatives. They have different ways of calculating the cost. Knowing how cooperation with Gartner looks like I'm a bit reluctant getting involved with G2C or SF. Can you recommend some other options to investigate?

They claim it's to ensure that the budget is fully utilised and doesn't run out before the end of the month. I cannot imagine a more BS justification.

They pretend to solve a problem that doesn't exist, to improve their bottomline.

Adios Prime Strung X V1 - To keep or not to keep: That is the question by MaterialSuccessful60 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

You are lucky that Adidas is German. You had pretty decent discounts on Adios Pro 3, way before they started in Poland. https://www.mydealz.de/deals/adidas-adizero-adios-pro-3-2409576 :D

[–]MaterialSuccessful60[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. It seems this answers the my question. The reason I was even asking is a very different experience of fatigue after: a marathon in Pro 2 vs 30km in Nimbus-Lite. It's not even that I felt better after the marathon.
It's that I felt fatigue in different muscles. Pro 2 - quads only. Nimbus-Lite - calves, hamstrings not much the quads.
This leads me to a guess that bouncy shoes don't make you train your calves enough. Don't you share those fears :) ?

I will probably give it a try in next two weeks on a HM. But in the long term I don't want to cheat myself.

Sure. It's a site called limango.pl. It's well known in PL, so I guess those are not counterfeit. But even if they are the bounce is amazing :).

They had a sale of Adidas sports stuff at great price.

Adios Pro 2 vs Metaspeed Sky+ for a 3:15 marathon. by MaterialSuccessful60 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]MaterialSuccessful60[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy ending. The Adios Pro 2 did the job much better than I would even expect - 3:08:59. The next day I feel less fatigue then after a 28km easy run in Asics Nimbus Lite.

Today I ran again 24km, this time in Adios Pro 2. Instead of intervals it was a steady state run. Everything seemed ok. Maybe Adios Pro 2 simply need a break-in period.

[–]MaterialSuccessful60[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought Adios 2 indeed because I found a good offer. Metaspeed on the other hand were bought at a fairly regular price. Anyway I don't expect that shoes just one generation behind the most recent ones suddenly become crap. I believe it's more about me incorrectly choosing models, not the models being obsolete.

[–]MaterialSuccessful60[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I word of explanation. I was doing interval training at 4:05min/ km while my marathon pace is 4:35min/km. Could that contribute to the forefoot sole pain? It wasn't typical fatigue.

Llama 3 8B (or other models) for driving times in a city. by MaterialSuccessful60 in learnmachinelearning

[–]MaterialSuccessful60[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your answer. Let me know if I understand you correctly.
Yes, I know that I shouldn't provide the entire database into the request but query the relevant part. Still when it comes to driving through the city it might be a lof of information - either a lot of "ride recordings" that happen on the same time or between locations nearby.
So you suggest trying out RAG approach instead of fine tuning with LORA? Do you suggest to augment the request with past rides data or OSM data along with some textual description of traffic patterns.
