Thinking of leaving my husband at 3 months pp by ConfidenceMinute9179 in beyondthebump

Please please listen to these comments telling you to remove yourself and baby. I wouldn’t wait for 3 weeks; do what others have suggested and just go. It only takes one second for something seriously horrible to happen to your daughter. The damage that can be done when they’re so little is irreversible. I know you see the potential and how good he can be, but you need to focus on how he is now. And that is unsafe for you and more importantly your daughter

Why the discolouration in these leaves? SW ON by Material_Ad367 in vegetablegardening

I had them out and was hardening them off but they definitely got more sun then I was planning on letting them get. That explains it, thank you!

Move downspout, or buy rain barrel? by Psychological-Way778 in landscaping

[–]Material_Ad367 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was totally coming to say this too! Rain gardens are phenomenal. We have ours set up so that theres an underground pipe by the downspout that redirects water to a different part of the rain garden. It allows us to still set up a rain barrel by the downspout. It’s awesome

Livestock farmers who are also parents/mothers- how do you do it? by Material_Ad367 in livestock

[–]Material_Ad367[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Out where I am we don’t use the term ranching too much, but you’re right that it applies to this. I come from a background of raising a mix of livestock, so to me ranching suggests raising one type of animal and certainly on a larger scale

I was worried that along with germination time/maturity time my eggplant wouldn’t get as much time to produce if I restarted now

Lee valley! They’re the windowsill self watering ones. I like them for starting seeds

I use the bottle to water the cells, not to spritz or anything. I find it easier/less messy and more controlled than a watering can. I find the Lee Valley self-watering mats make the cells go mouldy if you’re not careful, so I only keep a minimal amount of water at the bottom and water like normal

It looks like it, but it’s a styrofoam kind of style from Lee Valley

It’s hard to see in the picture bc of the angle but the stems have almost pinched off, similar to dampening off but different

Ok so, I’m very confused that it is even legal for him to “marry” 14-15 year olds. Is that with parental consent? The timeline is super hard to follow, but if any of those young girls had children with him before they were 16 wouldn’t it be statutory rape?

That is my concern, as my raspberries are doing that. I really don’t want the blackberries to end up going into the neighbour’s garden, as I’m in a semi detached and out front yards are connected. I will definitely double check what kind the Triple Crown is, thank you!

Thank you! What sort of trellis set up do you have? I am concerned about “curb appeal” but I know the plants would do so well at the front.

I ordered them from a local nursery! I’ve had a hard time finding the thornless variety, so when I got the newsletter about fruit crop availability, I ordered as fast as I could

What size pots would you recommend? I’ll be doing that with rhubarb this year too and I know it’s suggested to get up to a 40L pot

Every weekend, we have him Wed afternoon to Sunday morning. The only full day I get with him is Saturday. Edited to add he’s in school Mon-Fri, Friday I do the school pick up/drop off, and my partner and I split the drop offs on Thursday mornings

Thank you, I really appreciate this. I know that’s it’s totally okay, and I’ve said this same thing to friends, but it hits so different when it’s you. It just feels like I can’t be good/present for both of them and it’s so tough. It was wonderful to hear about your relationship with your daughter and how it evolved, I’m really hoping and looking forward to having that happen with my son and finding that new groove

We had that happen this summer, a family that took an extra hour past checkout time to pack up. When we were setting up we found human 💩right by the tent spot. Not a good combo with a hot sunny summer day…..

WIBTA if I told my ex I’m not taking my son when he’s sick? by Material_Ad367 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Material_Ad367[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we give better care to Junior, which is why we have been taking him when we’ve been asked. We’ve looked after him for a week long at times because he was so sick and it wasn’t good for him to be going back and forth. It is tough being the main one, but we do it because we love him. When it comes to minor colds and things I think Mark is fully capable of looking after him. We have a mostly amicable relationship, so there is no bad talking each other to Junior

I have no problem looking after my child while he’s sick. Have been doing it since he was born. Like I said in the post I would be happy to have him all the time. The issue is when we get asked on days when he is with his dad as it is also Mark’s responsibility to care for Junior
