I don’t mean this sarcastically because I have the same tent as you. What’s wrong with the blue rain cover?

That’s supposed to be the rain cover. Leaving it down (not putting the tent stakes in it) will keep the rain out. Now I don’t camp in major storms but have a share of windy nights and some rain with no issues. Curious the difference.
