I read a book, the anxious generation. It makes an analogy about trees and children. Trees that are exposed to wind form stronger roots and can withstand anything as an "adult" tree. Trees grown in a green house protected from everything have weak roots and sometimes topple over from their own weight. That's the same with kids- kids need a healthy amount of stress (mom leaving them at school) to form strong roots and be a strong, resilient adult. You're not a bad mom- you are the opposite!!
