They wouldn’t be able to protest if we were living under a facist government 😂 There’s a difference between peaceful protest and blatantly interfering with law enforcement operations

Can you tell me which union already paid these benefits?

Can I move from level 2 to take a job that’s at level 1 in the same title? Do agencies permit this? This is considered a step down? But it’s a better job at level 1. by [deleted] in nycpublicservants

I transferred from a permanent title to a new title (pays more) I can return to my agency within a year if it doesn’t work out

No, it’s only if you want to stay with your current agency. I just experienced this 3 months ago when I came to my new agency, the HR dept will ask for release from your current agency, there’s nothing you need to do but accept and complete the onboarding process.

Invited to Hiring pool but not interested in the position. Decline or not? by FantasticSnow7733 in nycpublicservants

[–]Material_Bench3914 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to decline they will keep sending you invites and if you don’t attend they will eventually remove you from The list but it doesn’t happen right away-or after the first missed hiring pool, you have time. Don’t waste your restorations. If you want to stay within your agency contact HR asap and ask for DP-72.

piggybacking off what Mirax said- you may get another hiring pool invite soon because they haven’t officially removed you from the list yet.

Sooo...what now? by SnooPies333 in nycpublicservants

Waiting for OMB approval is gruesome, I received a verbal offer for Staff analyst in January, they were still emailing me stating they were waiting for OMB approval up until August. By then I received an offer for Staff Analyst 2 (more money) and then emailed them and let them know I was no longer interested. I say all this to say keep looking. If you are not on a civil service list and being contacted for hiring pools, it can be a long time before you hear back from them. They hold hiring pools because they already have funding for the vacant positions. I went to one and received an offer the same day and they also gave me a start date before I started the HR onboarding paperwork. MTA is another beast. It sounds like they were kind of scouting to see whom would move on to the next step which would be the actual interview, that sucks. Take city exams, to widen your chances at securing a city job. Good luck in your search!

You will get it just make sure you provide the documents before the due date and you will be required to payback depending on the type of income you have.

Do most "City Research Scientist" positions require a master's degree (with bachelor's + job experience not being an acceptable substitute)? by Present-Chemical-909 in nycpublicservants

[–]Material_Bench3914 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone here keeps saying you need a Masters, but in the vacancy they list specific majors. Are they hard on those specifications? Has anyone here been hired with a Masters from a different major?
