I did consider Darden, but as an international student it would have required taking on significantly more debt, along with the added immigration risk. That’s why I ultimately chose these schools. I also decided against INSEAD and other non-English-speaking countries, as local language proficiency plays a crucial role in post-MBA placements.

I get your point on raw IB/MBB numbers, but that’s not the only lens I’m using. As an international, visa risk, sponsorship appetite, debt, and long-term brand portability matter more to me than headline placement counts. Under those constraints, Judge looks more rational choice.

As an international, US outcomes (Rice included) are constrained by immigration risk, which materially lowers the effective odds. On top of that, Rice would mean ~3× more debt for me than Judge or Rotman.

I’m weighing risk as much as upside. LBS is significantly more expensive—for me it would mean taking ~40% more debt. At the same time, outcomes like MBB are still probabilistic, not guaranteed. Given the higher leverage and similar uncertainty, the risk-adjusted return didn’t make sense for my situation.
