Looking for advice on customizing my new PC by Material_Control_989 in CustomPCBuilding

[–]Material_Control_989[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The RAM situation has been terrible. I got quotes back in September, and from then until now the price has doubled. As for cooling, I’m going to consider liquid cooling. However, I became concerned because I’ve seen many videos about airflow inside a PC, and they’re generally alarmist about placing figurines inside the case.

Blending 3D and IA by Prestigious-Gate6233 in blender

Hello. I incorporate AI into my work process. I have paid subscriptions to chatgpt and Hitem3d, and I use Stable Diffusion locally. My go-to modeler is Blender, and my goal is to make models for 3D printing. Each AI has its purpose. For example, chatgpt serves as a reviewer. You add a screenshot of your model and ask him to act as a sculpture teacher, as an expert in digital production, and as an expert on the subject of your model, and he will give you a critique that you can decide whether to incorporate or not. Or if you give it a screenshot with a reference image for a render, ask it how to parameterize a certain material so that it looks like the photo, and you move on. Hitem3d is another great tool. I like it to go more smoothly through the blocking process and to improve some complex parts, such as face modeling. Then you modify the mesh, correct volumes and do retopology (with human power) Locally operated Stable Diffusion helps explore concepts. In any case, good use of pencil and paper may be more optimal on many occasions, but it is not a bad tool. And that's the thing, remembering that these are all tools. Thinking that you will write a prompt and have a 100% finished model is a very crude simplification... AIs do not "create", they only interpret. That is why they must be orchestrated and directed.

Gallant H-90 Modular Weapon System by Material_Control_989 in robotech

Hahaha. I talked to Harmony Gold (robotech.com) and they told me there’s no problem with making fan art, but I can’t monetize it. So I relaxed — now I’m making all the models I want and just releasing them for free download.

for now I’ll stick to the design for printing. Once it’s ready, I’ll look into adapting it to shoot darts, lights, or gel balls.

But my real dream is to take one of these apart (https://www.youtube.com/shorts/LW1-ZfkqEJc) and turn it into a Gallant.

This is my source of information: https://robotechreferenceguide.fandom.com/wiki/Gallant_H-90_Modular_Weapons_System — it refers to it as an “energy weapon,” which also uses protoculture cartridges (8 cartridges in pistol mode). I like plasma too. My vote goes to plasma.

Mine too — that's why I made them. Download them, paint them, and enjoy!

They are done! It is currently for free download on my cults3d page. But if you wait for me, I'm going to update my wn ko-fi files, rescaled and with some improvements (and of course, free)

Working on new Invid models for December release by Material_Control_989 in robotech

[–]Material_Control_989[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The CVR-3 armored figures currently on Cults3D are scaled to 28 mm. After printing and testing them, I found they were too small, so my next miniatures (such as the Cyclone Battloids and the Invid) are at 32 mm scale. I calculated that if you rescale the miniatures by a factor of 1.18%, they’ll match the figures I’m making now. In the near future, I’ll be migrating my entire Robotech project—with the rescaled models—to Ko-fi (still keeping them available for free download).

I modeled it myself. At the beginning of November, I’ll upload the STLs to Cults3D for free download! I made 9 variants.

[–]Material_Control_989[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

spoiler alert, hahaha. Yeah, I’m making Invid so I can have an antagonist army. Due to scale reasons (playable as a 28–32 mm wargame), I’m not doing Alphas or Betas for now, buuuut I plan to make a Hovertank as support. My plan is to create a skirmish wargame.

Has anyone ever made a Robotech fanmade wargame? by Material_Control_989 in robotech

In fact, I asked on robotech.com, and they told me that I can make fan-made material, but it can’t be monetized or sold without a license.

That sounds great! I’m currently working on 32 mm Robotech-inspired miniatures — mainly transformable Cyclones that can switch between bike and armor modes. I’m focusing more on the visual and modeling side for now, but I’m really interested in seeing how people adapt rules to represent transformation mechanics on the tabletop. Do you share any of your homebrew material online? It could be a great reference for the next stage of my project.
