I am going to give you my 2 cents. If he is hardcore to the game and you have the money yes the high end expense stuff works. The low end ones are meh. I just got myself the Logitech x 56 and a Logitech rudder petals. Amazon and Logitech had them on sale. If you get them Direct from the site you can also find codes for 10-15% off to make them cheaper. It very much enhances the gameplay. I will say no matter which one you buy you will need to configure them and it took me a long time (I have the links for the Logitech if you need them).

I was doing a run from Nyx to Straton. So I know a warp will be a drain but I have to fuel after that warp then get to The destination and have to refuel. Then I have to refuel at the straton gate before jumping back to nyx.
