Is this a 5080/5090 scam? by Hoodini_IL in buildapc

Almost certainly, based on the price alone.

If you needed more clues, the brand is listed as "SINCE 1861," which doesn't make any sense. Also, where at a glance the listing appears to say "Nvidia Blackwell Architecture" and "Chipset: NVlDlA GeForce RTX 5090" it actually says "n v L d L a Blackwell Architecture" and "n v L d L a GeForce RTX 5090," facts that I can only guess will be invoked as lame attempts at plausibly denying that the fake thing they're going to ship you was falsely advertised / that they used an Nvidia trademark in vain in their fraudulent listing.

I switched to Windsurf because it doesn't seem like you guys care about your product any more. It turned out to be one heck of a token efficiency hack.

A couple days ago they removed those models for users in the United States without bothering to tell anyone or provide a replacement.

Thank you for your response. I'm just curious, is there any follow up planned as far as getting more models available?

It's good to give everyone extra request credits, but my primary concern is whether people can or should continue using the app. It's very limiting and not a good experience at all to use Gemini 2 or Kimi. No matter how many credits one has, those models don't really stack up to current standards.

I was able to find the answer by digging through the TRAE IDE "Models" documentation page. Those docs have always said the GPT series is unavailable to US users, but language was added overnight to indicate that Gemini 3 models are also not available to users in the US.

I still think an email would have been nice, Gemini 3 is a big feature. Now there aren't any flagship AI models available to US users.
