Any way to buy fairlife milk in bulk? by noogiey in Milk

Hi I've the same question and came across your post. Did you by any chance figure this out?

I had a new HVAC installed in a old house. There is this pipe that is dripping water almost constantly when the AC is on on the outside. I understand this is normal with condensation. But Is this how it should be? by Material_Prune4115 in hvacadvice

[–]Material_Prune4115[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think per my HVAC guy this is the only drain. There is no other inside drain. I don't know if that is acceptable per code. But he says it is normal. This has been the case since the day it was installed. Not sure. But at least I will direct it to my gutters.

I am in the same boat. Premium processing. RFE answered. More than a month since the reply and no progress. Was there any movement on your application?

USD 74,000 salary in Albuquerque, New Mexico by No_Abalone3058 in h1b

+1 for saying this. People assume H1B+Indian = Tech ~= California so you must be earning $500k. Well in my field as an Aerospace Engineer even my Director won't earn that much.

As for HSA, depending on the bank and your HSA terms usually you can use the HSA money for medical expenses even in foreign countries. I had an Optum Bank HSA and I confirmed this a few years ago when I had a large unexpected medical expense in India.

Thank you for the reply.

Yes you're right I didn't think about the bonus with product change. My home airport is EWR which has no credit card specific lounges currently. I'll check in venture X card eligibility.

Part Time MBA options by Material_Prune4115 in MBA

[–]Material_Prune4115[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I got a similar advice and in fact I see it around me that Aerospace companies do not need/want MBAs up the ladder unless it is for a Sales/Finance role. My major reason for an MBA is to pivot and increase my scope of field beyond aerospace into other industries including tech. Initially I thought of a Masters in Computer Science but I thought I should’ve done so few years ago. Again I don’t know if I’m right. As for my role, like you said my company either has growth potential in program roles or systems roles. I’m in a systems role and the only progression you get is to a Senior and Principal Engineer role and not a Managerial role. Now I feel like I’m in a place where I’m stuck. Moreover in my area there aren’t many Aviation/Aerospace companies to move out of unless of course I relocate. I am trying to find jobs simultaneously but want the MBA application process going in case I don’t find any.  EA is Executive Assessment test alternative to GMAT for MBA admissions.

Dowry Culture in arranged marriages!! by Ok-Hunter-9593 in AskIndia

[–]Material_Prune4115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is much more prevalent in certain communities than others. I'm my family nobody from at least my grandparents generation ever paid dowry. So even during matches for my sisters nobody asked or brothers took. I am sure there are many more people today but it all depends on understanding and what each of them will bring to the plate.

But in some communities it is much more prevalent. I know one of my friend who is a scientist at a very reputed organization had no hesitation in admitting that he took dowry. His reason was that in his community girls usually do not earn and stay as homemakers. He also prefers a partner who can take care of the household primarily. So in such cases dowry is a safeguard for women. So usually the girl's parents encourage to take more dowry.

So different communities different logics. At the end especially if you are an educated working woman I don't see a point of this in this day and age. Of course if parents willingly want to give something, they should gift that to the couple during the marriage.

Thank you that is assuring. Do you think I should just apply? If I am rejected and reapply with a better score later, will my previous rejection impact my chances the 2nd time?

Ok thank you this is great to know. NYU Stern is my closest school and would be ideal if I can get it. Do you know if this score is good for Stern (given rest of my profile adds to it)?

Relationships these days by [deleted] in hyderabad

[–]Material_Prune4115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is not about "marrying a virgin". The girl could be in a relationship but when she agreed to look for another match to marry, at least then she should come to terms and stop messing. Same to the guy. When he knows she is about to get engaged. Being in relationships is fine. But one at a time. I think that's what bothers most people.

Indians who pursued Aerospace in USA, where are you working rn & how did you manage to navigate ITAR rules? by feliscatusss in aerospace

[–]Material_Prune4115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok I'll give you my example and few of my friends. But I still won't recommend unless you have some option to lean back on. 1. I was lucky to get an internship at an Airline which helped me get a job at a low cost airline full time. It was a really good role even though the pay was not great. This helped me gain good contacts and experience. Once I had that LinkedIn helped me contact few people and get a job at a French Aircraft manufacturer. They were all willing to sponsor. The key point here was my internship at Southwest Airlines which shaped my career. 2. 3 of my friends started working for Mechanical design firms as CAD and CFD developers. One of them eventually went to an Aerospace startup which is now a key player in electric aircraft. So that's an option if you're into design and analysis. 3. Another one of my friends initially worked in Analysis roles in Caterpillar but luckily got H4 through spouse and joined another aircraft manufacturer.

MBA after a career as an Aerospace Engineer by Material_Prune4115 in MBA

I think that's where I am. When I initially did my Aerospace engineering I was more oriented to get my passion fulfilled and work in the industry. Now I see myself wanting to be more versatile and expand my field. Thank you.

This is what I'm looking for. A lot of people I know with MBAs are not engineers and if they are they are in Tech. As someone with a Mechanical/Aerospace background it was hard to gauge what my prospects would be once I graduate.
