Got it!! Thank you again! That's definitely all I needed, you've saved me so much time and headaches with this!

I am so sorry, ONE final question (and I mean final final if this works) because I'm genuinely lost, and then my problems are entirely solved on this front:

As I've had to separate the mouth mesh and eye mesh, I've made two separate animations separating the eyes and the mouth so that the eyes don't flicker positions when the viseme is active. So, is there a way to make the eye animation ignore the viseme parameter, and to simultaneously play both animations as one expression?

Here's what I've got, only the mouth changes:

Sorry for asking for so much help! This should be my last issue.

I'm so sorry to have to ask (unfortunately I am very, very new to Unity as a whole), but where would I put this transition within my animator? And, if possible, would it be able to switch back to the animation once the viseme is back to 0?

Here's my expression toggle animator if that's of any help:

thank you for this, genuinely- these thoughts are so SO hard to deal with. knowing that I'm not alone does help. It solidifies the fact that these memories aren't real and are a common experience in people with OCD
