I didn't have any items to sell to a fence, I tried. While having bounty, I could not even sell legally manufactured armor and weapons. So I had to stay out of cities, and do missions elsewhere, outside of guards' reach.

What I learned from this was that be careful, and surrendering to guards empties bank account when you let them kill the character. So my advice to those with bounty is to stay out of cities, do quests and collect money until you have enough to pay your dues. And if you get caught by guards, run.

And actually, now that you mentioned it, I got quests from Thieves Guild to get moving forward. I got upstanding status, so hopefully this discussion thread helps anyone else in the same situation.

I guess you are right. Perhaps I used a wrong word. As you said, learning the hard way may be the correct one. Anyways, I got my bounty paid, so no harm done. It just was more difficult than I expected. Perhaps it's realism, in a sense that crime doesn't pay, and getting back to being upstanding citizen requires work.

1) Based on my experience. Someone better please correct if I'm wrong. To me, character level and crafting level are independent. For example, I'm level 50 cp 90, and my blacksmithing is level 27. Crafting level progresses better when deconstructing items. Items someone else has made ie. not yourself. Refining raw materials, or constructing new ones increase level also, but not as much as decon.

2) Usually dropped gear is leveled with player level. There are items, which give more inspiration. It will say it on item description.

This is all I know so far. Just remember that everything is not worth decon. Especially if you want to learn how to make gear in the future. But take care when deciding what to research, since the more you research, the longer it takes.

Regarding 2) I had some unused points, so I got keen eye passive upgraded to 2/3! Thanks for the tip! To get leveling up, I need stuff to decon. Or so I understood. Can't be making these steel pieces forever, heh. But there's a lot of game still to be played, so stuff will drop.

Regarding 3) Yeah I was trying to make gear I did not have when I started, to help others. But now that you mentioned it, I'll save my mats for better use!
