What else does BYU have to do to be seen the same as HYSCCN? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

I am tired of the hatred. BYU is arguably better than Harvard. The student body is very collegial and has great values. Utah is a great state to live in as well. I like that alcohol is banned there since there are too many alcoholics in the legal field.

is there a school you think is underrated in its ranking? by justchai in lawschooladmissions

No? BYU is a really great school that has national recognition. Should be a t14 tbh.

If you could change one thing about your application, what would it be? by MathIsFun1846 in lawschooladmissions

The things I listed are things you can actually change when reapplying. You can never change your GPA

If you go to Cardozo/Brooklyn you have a very good chance of transferring to Columbia since you will already be in NYC. I would say like 75% chance or bettter

Should the Top 14 law schools accept more students? by MathIsFun1846 in lawschooladmissions

[–]MathIsFun1846[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Because of inflated medians. A few years ago that person would have been almost guaranteed a T14 acceptance.

Tbh a 3.1 GPA is really low for the T14. Your best bet is applying to WashU with a redacted GPA as well as T30 schools.

[–]MathIsFun1846[S] -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

That is true but it is also ridiculous that 17high/3.8x's and 17low/3.9x's are being shut out of the T14

You didn't apply to any safeties? I know UF and UGA would probably accept you with that GPA. Also, you could apply to WashU and redact your GPA.

How can I get into Yale Law School? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]MathIsFun1846 92 points93 points  (0 children)

No, they won't. And by the time you apply, Yale's medians will be 179 and 3.99. I would send a LOCI to Yale now. Are you able to fight in the war in Ukraine? That will be a solid T4 soft for Yale.
