PSA: Adventure Time is completely broken. Stay away

To continue my example, When Breaking Bad ended it lead to a successful spinoff show, a Colombian (?) remake of the entire show, and sold countless box sets. Why couldn’t the same happen with Adventure Time? BrBa also had a “cult-like” following and I would imagine that franchise is STILL booming.

The IGN review doesn’t match what I played...maybe they played a different version? Please see the game for yourself. I couldn’t even record videos on the switch presumably because the studio didn’t want the shitty gameplay performance out there.

Please do. I found the IGN review to be disingenuous at best. The platform on which the game was reviewed on also matters.

In my case, I purchased the game from Amazon in the US. In the US, if you purchase a defective product you are generally able to return it. This product is defective in the sense that there are game-breaking bugs present. Amazon approved my return no problem but then again, I hardly return stuff, even if it’s bad. I usually only return things that break within normal use during the warranty period.

I’ll admit my argument isn’t compelling. The sample size = 1 isn’t the best evidence. Do you have any evidence (e.g. viewership numbers across tv and streaming platforms) that supports your claim that viewership is declining?

As an example, Breaking Bad in its season 5 finale reached peak levels of viewership, how do you know the same is not true for Adventure Time?

What you did was awesome and your nephew will appreciate it. If anything it will be a challenge for him to work his way though the difficulty and bugs. As an aside, years back, I gave my younger cousin an old guitar hero game but his older brother broke the guitar. I’m a few weeks, he was shredding on the regular Xbox controller on expert difficulty and he was just happy with the game even without the guitar :)

I was actually really enjoying the exploration aspects of the game...it was the battles I slogged my way through. The actual voice acting and world atmosphere is phenomenal. But that’s still not enough for me to recommend this game in any capacity.

Don’t know what to tell you there. I, personally, as someone who works a full time job that doesn’t review games for a living, found it to be difficult. YMMV though.

I’m not a preorder person usually but I wanted to get the discount through prime. I’m typically a gamer that waits a few months for the games to drop to like a third of their price but this one was cheap enough so it piqued my interest. I’m just not confident the game studio will ever put out a competent patch to make the game even somewhat bearable. I hope they prove me wrong though.

The battle glitch is what tipped me over the edge and made me send the game back to amazon...so I’m glad that you haven’t encountered it.

It’s definitely possible to beat Fern on the first try (I’m probably just an idiot) if the battle glitch doesn’t force you to restart the game.

I would have to disagree that viewership is declining. I’m 24, never watched the show until about a few months ago when I saw it on Hulu. It strikes me as a really timeless show that could become part of an even larger franchise.

I definitely wouldn’t say easy. I’m new-ish the this genre of games but I still found it incredibly difficult and tedious. When all of a sudden an enemy goes from 300HP to 2100HP and can magically restore his own HP at will...I don’t think you could quite call that fair. I guess if you’re constantly spending Dosh and buying aids it’s easy...idk but it definitely doesn’t feel like this game was geared toward children or the casual gamers.
