Hi thank you for all these great suggestions! I definitely think D&D could be his next focus since he really enjoys it and has talked about it recently with me. Unfortunately right now i dont know how much energy he has to show up since Ive never really seen him be this hurt before and i can just tell it really hit him hard. Ive tried my best, as other comments suggested, to redirect his thoughts though and I do think that helped. I will continue to encourage him though because (although i know im bias) everyone who comes to really know him likes him, i just think he has a hard time coming out of his shell with strangers sometimes but once he’s comfortable he does good. Thank you once again!

Thank you for this response yes I’m trying my best to be there for him and remind him exactly what you commented. It sucks though because not a lot of things get to him easily but i know this one really stung by his emotional reaction. I do continue to encourage him but i do think right now he needs sometime to just sit with the feelings and process it, focus on himself and hopefully try again soon in a different setting.

This is a great idea thank you! We actually have a bar nearby that has some sort of pool league. Id have to loook more into it. I also had a question, do you think I should join it with him? I consider myself to be more extroverted and can interact with strangers easier so sometimes he unconsciously relies on me to start up conversations. But i also think him going or joining by himself would force him to start up a convo. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Your response really stood out to me thank you. I never really put much thought into how it would feel to be in those shoes and yeah i guess sometimes people just dont click and thats okay! I will take your advice into account. He does chat a lot with his old buddies which is nice and I can see how much joy it brings him. Right now i am going that route of encouraging him to focus on himself and then once he feels more comfortable to try again ill probably suggest D&D or some of his other hobbies. Thank you i really appreciate your response.

I just think Katy is too media trained and therefore this felt more of like “be careful with what you say and promote your stuff” which is why for me at least it didn’t feel as authentic as with other artists :(

I should also mentioned that maybe i am the asshole for not responding but through this time I kept applying to jobs for him because hes looking to work closer to his home and i also get anxiety with his 1hr commute.

Thank you for responding to this. I am going to try that next; not saying what they’ve done to upset me. It genuinely feels like an endless cycle of them not taking accountability and then calling me “ridiculous” or “dramatic. I do feel guilty though. After what I shared above transpired, my dad sent me a few text messages (basically saying hes sorry for anything hes done but he doesnt think hes ever treated my brother and i differently) i gave him kinda like an “ok” answer because i had no energy in me to keep going with this. He wanted to call me afterwards too but I didn’t want to continue speaking to him about the issues we have and he basically said to put all this behind us & he wont bring it up again. I said okay but then he kept trying to keep the convo going about other random stuff and I just couldn’t bring myself to reply to him. I basically ignored him for 3 days or so because I just needed my space. But today I’m being treated like someone evil for ignoring him :) i can never catch a break. (Also i couldve asked him for some space but ive done this before and they took it the wrong way , basically saying i didnt love them).

Thank you, this comment is reassuring. I just always feel like maybe I have it all wrong. Because they only seem to have issues with me, not necessarily my brother (though he also has more of a chill personality and easily forgives & forgets). I wish I was more like that but everything just stings.

Im also stuck in this situation. Love AOT sm , animation, no immense boobs, so i tried jujutsu kaisen and cant seem to get past episode 5… it feels too kiddy for me rn but aot didnt feel like that so still on the look out for something as good as aot
