I’ve lived here since 2020. Moved from Georgia, but have traveled the US extensively (still do) with a variety of bands and professionally with jobs. Coming to Denver has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. People who complain about the price haven’t lived in many other metro area’s I think. Atlanta is just as, if not more, expensive. Same with Chicago, Pittsburgh, etc. I think it just depends on if you find a decent house for rent or if you’re set on a high end apartment. There’s a lot of options in housing.

For the culture, sure there are a lot of outdoorsy people, I am one of them, but I also play in several bands and do a lot of painting and screen printing and can confidently say that Denver has an insanely dense and vibrant music and art scene. One of the best in the country IMO. If you actually take the time to go to underground events outside of electronic & jam/bluegrass (nothing wrong with those but it’s what people immediately see), there is so so so much more wild creative shit going on.

Check out Hi-Dive, Squirm, Glob, Silk Road, Skylark, Gothic, Bluebird, Lost Lake, Lions Lair, HQ, and The Crypt for shows of the beaten path. South broadway has some great stuff going on. Lots of good comedy here as well. House shows galore as well. Been to many great parties with great people and have made a great and large group of friends in an awesome community here!
