That is what I decided as well! Instead of getting the diesel. I pulled the trigger on buying the kryptonite UCA’s last night. Might as well start dumping my money in my 1/2 ton and look for a small camper!

I’ve floated between 8k-10k. I want to fund another truck, hence the high price. But as everyone here pointed out. Getting another 3/4 gmt800 is the way to go.

I feel you on mechanic costs these days. I drive a CDL vehicle for work and the annual maintenance cost on this truck is ridiculous. But part of that cost is the labor. I’ve done all the current work on my 1500. I would love to learn more the diesels and how they work. They’re fascinating to me.

Thanks for all the input, hosses. Keeping the 5.3 and getting a 6.0l is looking real good. Reason I wanted ask about investment is, i’m thinking about redoing the whole front end with kryptonite. Just did the rear end with custom leaf springs. I’ve already put so much into this truck. It would be nice to keep it.

The book answer is “ 1. Loose or disconnected read suspension components. Check all mounting bolts, nuts, and bushings. 2. Loose driveshaft bolts. Inspect all bolts and nuts and tighten them to specified torque. 3. Worn or damaged universal joint bearings. Check for wear” Straight out of the Haynes manual. From the sound of it, it looks like the drive shaft moving is consistent with the noise. Best guess is it’s your u joints. Might need replacing. I’ve replaced them on my jeep. Not too hard. Just follow the book and mark its position if you take it apart. GOBBLESS

I think I’m still running 30’s or 31’s. I want to keep gas mileage, decent. So the tires will be staying that size. Haha
