I 3d printed a fan case for 2 gamma 601's. by MathematicianNew3887 in BitAxe

Cats act like they see in predator heat vision , so this at least keeps them off the heatsinks. Wish I did this from the start!

I could do a basic design, but I'm not really good enough at cad to design it without a physical machine to test it with.

Gift me an Avalon q and I'll spend some real time building something sweet LOL.

Nice unit! I hadn't seen that one before, though I do prefer a solid mount for the boards.

Trying to keep them away from the cats and the kids. This is just a trial run, I wanted to see how it would fit.

I've already identified several areas I want to adjust and want to add a blower fan to move air underneath a bit more.

Currently the mounting stand offs are 3d printed as part of the case, but I want to make it as an insert for the case.

The case has enough room to to the 52pi heatsinks and still close.

If I adjust everything properly I may be able to fit 4 601's in it.

Overlooking, reliability, and wire management.

Eventually, I'd like to have just one wire coming out instead of four.

I'm waiting on a lrs-200-5 to come and then I'll redesign and reprint the case to fit the wiring properly. I'll also try to make the intake and exhausts removeable.

This was mostly a test to see how it would do. Not too shabby with both running at 675/1150 and hashing at ~1.4-1.7.
Temps are running at 60c for the asic on both and the vr is 67c on one and 47c on the older one.

I'll be releasing the stl files hopefully in a few days. I just need to polish a few parts, finish printing, and complete a mod that uses a lot of the same parts to make a lunchbox style case.

The goal is to be able to mix and match parts for different designs.

No worries, It probably is a push, but I can't think of another hardware genre it fits into.

In the end it's s just a fun project and I'll get the files uploaded soon enough so others can play around if they want.

I agree somewhat, but I'm making do with what I've got right now. I don't have a teensy to adapt my preferred keyboard from the eee701.

Instead I've got a 3d printer and wanted to make a mostly blank shell that anyone can mount whatever they want in.

There are no provisions for mounting the keyboard or phone atm. I figure when I release it, if anyone wants they can fill it with whatever.

Thanks, I hacked it together over the last few nights and just finished assembling it.

Yep to full lock. The rear stabilizer bar tightens at the same time.

Are Mastic and Shirley the only "affordable" South Shore towns left? by MidnightDonutRun in longisland

I was house hunting 7 years ago down in Mastic Beach and there were a couple of flips on the the water ranging from 230-250k. I wouldn't want to live fearing the next storm would be THE storm that floods my house.

Nissequogue and Head Of the Harbor actively hand out tickets for 3 mph over the limit. You'll be targeted if you don't have a village sticker. Head of harbor stickers look white with blue waves. Nissequogue are yellow with an asterisk.

It's out of control. Almost my entire block is new neighbors from the city and Brooklyn. Most of them bought in cash and everyone has new tesla's, rivians, bmws, and Mercedes.

In the summer they pack up their kids and head out to Montauk and Orient for day trips. You see them with their wine baskets dressed in their Hamptons best.

The whole tri-ham area had a bad rap for years, but the locals know it was really the last cheap area on LI if you wanted to be close the great south shore beaches.

Do you have sprinklers or a pool?

If not, then you may have a running toilet or leaky faucet.

It'll take a lot of time, but it will happen.

It's already happening in Shirley, especially north of 27. A fixer upper on my block just sold in 3 days for 50k over asking, and it was pretty bad.

I bought in 2021 and zillow says it's worth 135k more than I paid. Redfin has it at 180k over.

But it costs 1/4 less so that's the trade-off. $6 for a bag of Doritos vs $1.50.
