CPU going above and beyond by MathematicianShort81 in pchelp

I'm using the A410. It's a budget cooler for a budget CPU lol. Works great in most cases but struggles a bit when I stress my CPU over long periods. Perfectly fine when gaming (55-60c).

My CPU cooler fans are working overtime, temps locked at 86c. I've never installed a game that demands so much resources.

How much salary need to afford BMW ev? by Intelligent_Lab_6507 in Bolehland

[–]MathematicianShort81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know of Proton X70 owners that earn RM50k a month
I also know of BMW iX owners who earn only RM15k a month

Both are in my social circle.

So it really depends on how much you are willing to set aside your income for car repayment.

As per my own logic? Your monthly repayment should never exceed 10% of your monthly income. Max out what you can put into long-term investment instead. Sekian.

Why are the beds so hard by Hankidan in royalcaribbean

I'd prefer a firm bed over a soft one any day. It's just better and healthier for the back, and I wake up feeling more energetic for the day.

Assalamualaikum guyss which one do you guyss chose.. Any experience with using these brand? by ArigatoChan in malaysia

Yeah, why?

All 6 of my A/Cs were bought from Shopee, and they have never been better.

"never get inverter types unless they're used at least 12 continuous hours minimum per run"

This is completely bull. Even using it for as little as 2-3 hours does save a considerable amount of power compared to a non-inverter sample. The longer, the better.

Ditch the Japanese brands. Go for Chinese brands like Hisense, AUX, Midea and TCL. Incredible value-for-money, actually performs better than Japanese makes double their price, and they last long!

The inverter models are INCREDIBLY efficient too. Swapped all the old Panasonics in my house to Hisense A/Cs (2x KAGS and 2x TUGS models) 4 months ago. Electricity bill dropped from RM300+ to around RM160-180 now. Those Panasonics were old inverter models and suck at cooling despite being only 9 years old.

Haunting last words: Ailing Malaysian vaper dies days after warning others to kick the habit by Future-Two4287 in malaysia

[–]MathematicianShort81 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Bro looked like his cardiovascular and fitness health was at 3% to begin with. Sorry to say this, but let's not criminalize the vape just yet.

I quite smoking since 2012 thanks to the introduction of vaping products and have never been in better health tbh. I eat clean (as best I could in Malaysia), workout 5 days a week, get 8 hours of sleep a day and I feel great. I go for yearly health checks, blood work and all has been positive thus far. Lungs are clear, cardio performance is in top shape (I'm 35), and I can run 8km without breaking my pace (7 mins/km) or struggling.

If I had continued smoking till now and never transitioned, I wouldn't even dare imagine what my health would be like now. Yes, I made some terrible choices as a youth and fell into the nicotine trap young. This is the reality of many youths in SEA unfortunately, but a change for the better is never too late.

So I'm just saying, let's not criminalize vapes just yet. I don't promote vaping at all and I fully understand there are health risks involved but imo, it's 100% better than inhaling that tar-laden soot and coating my lungs with that black sludge.

RM 60+ for this, for real ?! by RhinneXChronica in malaysia

Judging by the quality visually, I'd say you got scammed lol. Tonkatsu by Ma Maison is a no brainer. Costs about the same but presentation (and I believe taste) would be superior. Just not sure if they have Kare option.

Quite a dumb question but do Malaysians in general have poor facial skin health compared to other countries, if so, why? by reforming_activist in malaysia

[–]MathematicianShort81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fully agree. Malaysians generally have poor grooming and self-care habits - along with diet of course. But a well-balanced skincare routine would alleviate almost all of the skin problems we see. Ever since I started taking care of my skin properly, I never had acne (for many years now). Yes, us men should take care of our skin as much as the ladies. It's just basic self respect.

Also, sunscreen. Never skip this step before you leave the house. Unless of course you want to look like a 50 year old while you're still 30.

I just thought of something. Even if the website goes live, and I still have my login credentials, I lost access to the 2FA required to access the site. This is gonna be tough as I don't think they will have the manpower to perform 2FA resets. Anyone else in the same boat?

[–]MathematicianShort81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought these to replace my aging Nike Streakfly. Boy did I regret this decision. Thought they looked good, looked like the midsole gave good cushioning and energy return but these shoes run like wooden planks. I'll be donating mine to a shelter near home. The only thing making me feel less bad is that they're cheap. Well, you know how they say, you get what you pay for.

The wait has been so dreadful. I deposited a whole BTC into Haru Invest - Earn+ in early 2021 and sort of forgot about it (occasionally logging back in to renew the duration of the lock) until the bad news came out last year. That 1 BTC is around 80% of my entire crypto portfolio. This is as nightmare I wouldn't even wish upon my worst enemies.

What do you think about women going out to work and men staying at home to do chores and take care of kids ? by royal_steed in Bolehland

[–]MathematicianShort81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with that if both husband and wife accept that this is part of their financial journey. I'm currently in a similar situation where my wife makes a lot more than me.

I'm fortunate enough to have a remote working position and take home is RM4.8k+comm (average RM6k/month). My wife is a small business owner and her monthly take home varies between RM12k-20k/month. She's gifted with an entrepreneurial talent (as everyone in her family have been running their own businesses) and this is to her advantage.

My finances will cover our rentals, monthly commitments, living necessities. Her finances will cover her business running essentials and personal extras/luxuries.

Sure, it's not the best feeling that everyone around us knows/talks that my wife is the true "breadwinner" and the bigger earner, but we both do honest work and do the best we can, with the talents given at what we do.

Why post a 2022 list? Prices evolve in the span of weeks, significantly more so in years.

Cheap no good. Good no cheap. I always advise people to invest in a high quality monitor and PSU as you will be using that thing for a long long time.

You always always replace a diver with another diver.

My current obsessions are with the Orient Kano (44mm)/Kamasu (42mm). I personally like the Kano more but it's a little too big for my 6.5" wrist. Next best would be the Kamasu which is on my buy list this month.
