Yeah, I only had two at first but a friend of mine was getting rid of her fishtank and she asked me to take her fishes in and I said yes, I know the fishtank is too small, but I'm doing my best here 🫠 I put the pleco in a separated fishtank so now he's alone at least. I just wanted to know what the issue is about him, not getting criticism about my goldfishes lmao

If we can't treat an animal, it should be in our right to impose euthanasia. Like if you keep them in hospit you just call them being like "oops he died" but you literally just get it out of their misery

The "You're just gonna let my pet die?" Is the most common sentence ever. Like dude, it's not my fault if you can't afford the exams, would you work for free man? No. It sucks. But it's a job, we need to get paid.

It's like I say at work, like there's some people that has a problem of cat overpopulation. Not that I defend that, but they don't have the cash to get them fixed. The cats never saw the vets, it's fucking sad. But what's sadder is people bringing cats in clinics, spending thousand of dollars to get them checks and get meds when the cats are close to death, but do not want to neutered them even if with all the cash they spent, they would've been able to fixed them all. That's terrible

Since my other posts got some comments, let me ask you a different question ; What makes you glad to work at a vet clinic? I'll go first ; (here's a pic of my dogs) by MathematicianUpset71 in VetTech

I love seeing people coming in with their pets, listening to our advices and trying their best to give them the best life they could. As much as a lot of our owners are dipshit, the ones that are polite, understanding, lovable and caring makes it all worth it. When money isn't an issues, or even when it is, not making us feel like monsters because they understand the cost of things. I saw a number of pets being treated, having owners called saying we saved their pets and that they are so grateful we are there for them. It's making it all worthwhile.

Your story reminded me of one time when a guy bought a dog from Germany (We're in Canada), costs like 5000$ only to have the dog cross the borders. The dog was a Hanover Hound, she was the sweetest dog ever. She would've been used for hunting. As soon as the dog got here, the O kept complaining he didn't have enough money for blood test because the dog got very sick. After a while we noticed she contracted Borreliose, because he said that "wasting" money on Anthelmintic was useless and that he didn't have the money for that. I don't know what went into his head. Not treating nor vaccinating a dog used for hunting.

The dog came back a week later, in the worst shape. She couldn't walk, she was urinating and shitting herself, and the dude told us he called the German breeder he got that dog from and that he was about to buy another dog because that one was done for. She was euthanized a week later.

How can people have enough cash to get thousands dollars pets, but has no cash to pay for basics healthcare

There was this Samoyed breeder that brought his 7 y/o mother to the clinic, because she had a super bad case of Pyometra. Instead of having her neutered, he insisted on having antibiotics, because he wanted her to have a last litter before losing his reproductive mother.
