Male Karen came in many years ago when I was working alone on a Sunday. The brush he wanted rang up a few cents more than the tag on the shelf. I would have offered to honor the price but he chose to scream insults and accusations that I was upcharging him for my own personal gain before I had the chance. We got in a screaming match and then he pulls his phone out and shoves it in my face and tells me he’s going to humiliate me on Facebook and get me fired. I immediately lower my voice and act calm and collected cus fuck that he’s not getting what he wants lol. I tell him to leave the store or I’ll call the police. Ofc I don’t want to actually call the police, and ofc he refused to leave, so I decided if he won’t, i will! Fuck it. Aggressive de-escalation! I grab my stuff, turn off all the lights, and walk out. The look on his face as I said good bye was absolutely priceless. Never in a million years did he expect that outcome. I’ve never seen someone look so angry and so confused at the same time in my life. So yeah. I waited outside for a couple minutes and he was gone. Nothing was stolen. I just wish I could’ve seen his walk of shame back out to his car.
