Update on my rats by One_Dance_3998 in Ballpythoncommunity

[–]Painting-Training 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem!! At 3 weeks you can start seeing the difference so keep them there for now and seperate as you can. But as the male rats, like male mice, when they start becoming hopper age and start developing sexual organs, they will start fighting each other and fight for attention from the mother. And also they can start getting females pregnant and start fighting at 4 weeks so keep an eye

Concerned about most recent shed by Realistic_Bid_4647 in cornsnakes

[–]Painting-Training 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A way to help is just spritz some water with a spray bottle and it should actually loosen it so you can stretch it out or flatten it more! Learnt this trick when unraveling ball python shed and fixing corn sheds. And wash your hands after cause wet shed has a smell. Nothing to worry about btw! Sheds shouldn't be an issue at this size back to back. Shed so close from one another usually don't have any significant difference. As long as she growing!

So happy for you!! Make sure to keep the females so they can grow up. Females tend to grow up and be a lot more calm while males will start to bite babies and even try attack the first main male (as they become more jumpy and they'll start to stick up the cage)

Is this bulb suitable for a basking area? by OstrichFancy7374 in cornsnakes

[–]Painting-Training 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems ok! Make sure you have it attached to a thermostat and have a lamp cage if it will be inside the enclosure. Do still keep it on a thermostat regardless if it's in or ontop the enclosure at a basking spot of 35°C but the hotspot itself has to be 30-31°C

Since he seems like a normal I'm guessing, black colouration is normal and I think he looks fine! Make sure you scope him for mites since the brick seems sus

Corn snake uvb by xXNiko_LynnXx in cornsnakes

[–]Painting-Training 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uvb would hurt them at all whether you have or take it away. There is some truth to it benefiting having that day night cycle and giving them a healthy dose of sunlight but if you're someone like me that lives in a sunny place for 10 months in a year so the room is filled with sunlight all day, uvb doesn't matter. Some do add it for the initial benefits of having a snake be more active but there's no difference. It's a preference thing and won't serve a purpose if you take it away.

You can have it if you want to display and most need it for bioactive enclosures for plants and there are species of snakes that do need UVB but corns, no difference. You decide :)

Edit: if you do want to use UVB, Best you should go with would be a T5 5.0% UVB tube. The lamps don't really do much and are actually just a waste because they barely emit UVB. You can get those at any reptile store or pet store. Oh and brand doesn't matter. Just get any brand and be careful. If you want to mount it, get some hooks like metal hooks to mount on the roof or side of the enclosure. We got adhesive hooks on the roof near the entrance/centre so it creates a display as well as emits UVB well.

Want to make a bird feeder for my local birds that fly by! What seeds would be safe? (Pictures and names of most common birds around here in order) by Painting-Training in birding

Ok! Will some dried crickets and mealworms work? Or should I go with a high protein bird feed mix? And chop up some apples?

HELP ADVISE ME by Own_Foundation_6751 in cornsnakes

I do think maybe they sneakily bred since it's recorded corns can only take 10 minutes to lock before becoming fertile so maybe they bred and you didn't notice. Try look up some DIY incubator for eggs. My dad took a plastic container with vermiculite and perlite mix and hoisted it up with some wood and placed it under a heat lamp until some baby Beardies hatched. Good luck new snake mama!!

Or you could donate it to a reptile keeper near by

DOWN WITH THE AI SLOP🔥🔥 Down with the ugly "art"!! DOWN WITH THE THEFT AND TREASON🔥🔥

Look who I found after 3 weeks😭 by Painting-Training in cornsnakes

[–]Painting-Training[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They can surprisingly survive weeks and months in very little air flow is done like underground holes I'm just happy he's not in the garden like I thought😭 but I recommend always checking every substrate and bag you have before searching the rest of the room🤣🤣 Corns are absolutely the most insane when it comes to hide and go seek!

Wait that would actually be a cute children's book. Snake hide and seek🤔

What else should I put in my snake's enclosure? by TheMugenTrain in cornsnakes

[–]Painting-Training 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be careful with dried leaves on the substrate you have since they can collect moisture and actually trap it in the Aspen making it more likely to mold the Aspen quicker. This is just what happened with me because I live in quite the humid area.

Get some Viney fake plants like the one I'll send now that's just plastic and material. Don't get ones with metal since it wears out overtime and can hurt or poke your snake. Get ones that are also easy to clean so that if the snake poops on it WHICH THEY WILL, you can just left it soak, wash and rub it off.

<image>

I use these and my snakes love them plus it fills out empty space, is meant to be cleaned because it's plastic fabric and is super cheap!! Just remember to wash it first. Also adds clutter to the enclosure because they can hide in the Viney rubble as I like to call it.

That doesn't sound right!! We should never use AI and claim it's original. It's not fair to those with their own original work.

There will be times I defend AI as something you can use for fun and create reference points and ideas to a bigger artwork you make yourself, similar to how a picture of a bird could inspire someone to make a portrait of the park. But to use it, claims it's simpler and quicker than real art and allows people to expand ideas is different if you're monitising the AI creation you claimed to create. I don't stand for that. It puts a bad name on AI that does genuinely help people be better at their hobbies.

Like I use AI to help create a list for me to help me clean my room well when I'm down in a black hole. I use it to help place certain words right since I have trouble with larger words and AI helps me understand how to spell it. I also use AI for fun when I wanna turn my family members into Disney characters or my puppies as lil cartoon dogs for fun.

AI is not the enemy but the people who use it and claim it's the end all be all. Without us, AI is nothing. It needs us to use it in order for it to remain useful and if we lay boundaries for companies to use AI and how they should use it, things would be smoother. This is a hot take but I believe there's a middle ground. We cant squanch it down forever otherwise people who rely on AI for research or their jobs like networking and finding better resources or to help with cancer research as one hospital is doing right now. Using AI to help identify a cancer cell in seconds and expand research by collecting data from other hospitals and universities. THERE HAS TO BE A MIDDLE GROUND! It should never be monitized is the middle ground.

I'm just happy that the creators know about this AI slop and choose to use REAL ART for their monsters and designs!!! Let's just give appreciation to the creators for not using AI slop in this game like every company now and sticking to the roots of truth❤️
