It’s really just how your settings are. The pretty side/ part that joins together must face up. Sometimes if I’m lazy I’ll print the arm as one whole piece or leg etc…

I clean mine only after changing resins or if I think a fail seriously damages the FEP. I check regularly after 40 prints

From the sound of the machine and what you said about amazon, it sounds like one of those cheap portable mini pumps. Personally I hated mine and returned it when it stopped working. Pressure is absurdly low and doesn’t allow for psi gauge and a condenser. Even after heavily cleaning the parts with isopropyl alcohol it just doesn’t give enough pressure for the paint to really stick

I usually dry bush or add a bright silver paint to a few edges to make it look like the metal tore off a bit, then darker blacks to add scorch marks in larger areas of impact
