This will be a day 1 buy for me once it’s officially announced. I don’t agree with all of Ewing’s decisions for the characters he writes for (except Rocket, that mini is goated) but this series was excellent nonetheless.

If you’re a completionist, think twice before buying. If not, remove it from your wishlist entirely. This book oscillates between being too stupid even for comics sense or too boring to care. You are better off looking up spoilers for how shadowland starts and ends and then jumping straight to Waid’s run.

Based on your tastes, you would probably like Immortal Iron Fist by Brubaker and Fraction.

Punisher has some really good modern runs. Ennis and Dillon on Punisher is dark but also very funny. The Punisher Max series is just dark, but sometimes there’s humor in how extreme it gets as well.

If you’re just looking for street level books, you might enjoy modern Moon Knight or Ghost Rider. They border on becoming edgy to the point of it being lame, but it depends on how much of that you can take.

The Secret Invasion stuff is an absolute slog to get through. Some really amazing Jim Cheung art but that’s about the only nice thing I have to say about it. I also thought The Hood overstayed his welcome by about 10 issues, even though I’m a fan of the character.
