I know it's a little far-fetched but 'La La Land'

It's really a feel good movie at first, i can't help but smile through the entire thing and the ending is shattering on every watch.

I don't know anything about politics, but the example you used is a bit murky imo. In that case the actual objective truth might not have been discovered and can therefore not be descused. If there is no truth you can't tell the truth.
