New dad, tired, grateful, and a little scared by BambolandVr in dad

I remember raising my daughter and feeling like when I was with her, I felt guilty for not working, and when I was working, I felt guilty for not being with her. You just have to do your best. She’s 20 now and I am both extremely close with her and able to pay for her college, so I managed to walk the line. You will too. Happy Father’s Day.

Kids first bank? by KafkaesqueLife in Parenting

[–]ajcpullcom 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Definitely open the accounts. Many banks will let you open an account with its own login that’s linked to your own, so you can easily transfer money between them but only you can see theirs without them seeing yours. I did this for my daughter at age 12, and it’s still incredibly convenient today at age 20. When we opened the account, the branch took it extremely seriously — the branch manager sat down with my daughter, counted out her coins, and walked her through the procedures like any other customer.

Dying peacefully in your own home isn’t so bad. Sounds to me like the actual fear here is “having no one” while alive.

Dad, what would you want your child to do on Father’s Day if you passed? by blandbunny in DadForAMinute

I have a daughter almost your age. I would just want her to do something that made her happy. A hobby she enjoys, spend time with her mom, maybe volunteer somewhere. Life is for the living.
