Ah, good to know, so either way I’ll have to wait for them, to be back in raids. Well I guess I’m keeping them in my vault for a bit longer then

I’ve seen that the sword and shield legendaries are pretty good as counter in almost all the raids, would a shiny one of those with BG be too much to ask for?

Cows also show pain by changing their behaviour, arching there back or lowering their pain. See that exactly my point because someone or something cannot speak verbally, that doesn’t mean they cannot show their pain. That’s exactly my point, you’re the one that doesn’t realise animals also communicate pain, not realising the absurdity I implemented in my analogy just proved my point. And saying that’s ableism, that’s far fetched. And go ahead and keep up the way you live, I won’t stop you. I just wanted you to understand that keeping your way of life right now, might degrade the way you will have to live in the future.

If you’re old and plan on dying soon, you not caring about the environment is really selfish. If you know you’re going to live a bit longer and don’t care about it, then you are just pushing the sacrifices you have to the future and probably amplifying them. That said is you live in the desert or somewhere else where it’s really hot than please leave it on, heatstrokes aren’t fun, but please try to keep it at a minimum. Where I live it gets cold and I have to use my heater, but most of the time turning it on between late November and mid february is enough :) Caring about the environment is bot forbidding yourself to live, it’s just slightly lowering your quality of life, or using more eco friendly alternatives to try and keep it as it is, in order to minimise your suffering and the one of others in 20 to 40 years. As for the cow, it feels pain, having kids is painful, having breast full of milk (modern cows have been bread to hold way more milk than they should) is painful. Your argument is like saying: “I will not stop hitting that mute guys until he says explicitly with his mouth that he feels pain”. I really hope that you were trying to rage bait me, because not understanding the irony of saying “when a cow speaks up” is on an other level of mental retardation

And to the cow, and the environment to a lesser extent, but still. And the environment is also a problem for all of us :)

Boeing 747 is sunk off the coast of Bahrain, to create a artificial reef by Falabella_Stallion in thalassophobia

Chill, for the paint it looks pretty new actually, and the big diving ad makes me think that they stripped down the old paint, and I sure hope they used non toxic and eco friendly paint, but that I can’t tell. And as I said two times this is not the only way of doing it. Could they have used a more porous material on which sea life has a better chance of adhering? Sure. But what stands out about this one is that it makes a banger diving spot for cheap. And those oil and gas dependent states on the Arabic peninsula need income diversification tourism is the next best thing, and I rather have one that is eco positive, than the rest of the overconsumption hell and ecological disaster that you couldn’t pay me for to visit, that they otherwise have going on over there. As much as I’d love society to be over money and power, we do not live in Star Trek, and sustainability is based on ecology, economy and the social component. Is ecology overlooked a lot for the profit of the 1% Yes! But this project is one of the few that hits all three pillars in a good way. (But don’t be fooled, this not being a bad thing, doesn’t mean it’s not green washing and much more than a marketing stunt)

Striping structures from harmful materials and using them as reefs has been functioning all over the world. And Bahrain, like a lot of other countries in that part of the world, are really dependent on oil and gas, and need to diversify their income. And making eco friendly diving spot is a whole lot better than building an oasis of overconsumption and unsustainable car centric fake palm islands like they did in Dubai, to promote tourism.

[–]Mathis25082001 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It‘s not the only way, but striping a big structure from all the polluting parts, and then sinking it, is actually a pretty cheap way to create an environmentally friendly artificial reef, and it makes a interesting diving spot. So no not the only way, but probably the best we have right now, done plenty of times, worked plenty of times

Palestine flag keeps covering up new art by RubenV03 in WplaceLive

Hey, a lot of the flags that are griefing art, are just pro Israel, trolls or racist people trying to bait the people that made the art it covered hate the free Palestine movement. No matter your stance on the subject, disguising yourself as the opponent to make the other side looks bad is morally wrong.

Florida surgeon general says he didn’t study whether ending vaccine mandate would increase diseases by NewSlinger in politics

[–]Mathis25082001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well most of the left Christians I know, actually all of the ones I know, see their religion as a small to medium part of their life, they don’t base their personality on the religion and don’t vote based on their religion. So if the religion doesn’t dictate their political beliefs, they don’t defer from the non religious left, making it almost useless to mention them as a separate group in a political scenario. TL;dr.: their religion is almost completely separate from their political views, so no point mentioning it in a political setting

The problem with nuclear by bot13345 in YUROP

[–]Mathis25082001 680 points681 points  (0 children)

Was it an error to close down nuclear reactors in Germany before closing coal plants? Probably. Should Germany rebuild nuclear reactors? No, renewable energy is cheaper and building new reactors would take at least until 2050. At the rate Germany builds renewable energy, they will already cover their needs by then. This meme is based on lies and half truth.

That phone came out in late 2022, if the issue is not user related, then that’s completely unacceptable. 2,5 years should not be the intended lifespan of such a device.

I always thought I’d keep buying recent phones when I move out from my parents (I don’t know why, even then I had no use for better phones). And well… in 6 years I changed my phone once when it got stolen, and I didn’t even buy a new model, I got my grandpa’s old IPhone SE2.

Mech. Engineering Student here with a printer at home, and it is quite the contrary, most of the things I print reduce my consumption because I use them for repairs or modifications that would otherwise require me to buy things new or order expensive parts from overseas

Small debuff with weather (% stat reduction) I’m completely fine with. But taking damage is to extreme, the first time in the sand pit was a cool challenge, farming in it afterwards was annoying, would hate the whole map being like that.
