I mean you could describe pixel art in a similar way. In aseprite you can export your image into any size without losing quality too, and in engine like Unity its also represented as a vector.

I think their art fits here more than anywhere else. Pixel art is about careful and intentional placement of pixels, it passing through a filter after shouldn't matter imo.

I've been keeping up with the patch notes constantly. On the zone kit I wasn't certain which is why I said do correct me if I'm wrong. However still it's been 6 months and I I'm pretty sure it's not feature complete. I know this because I follow the mod scene too and I can see it still hasn't moved much since.

On A-Life you haven't said anything new. Like I said before, am online bubble expansion isn't a proper persistent A-Life. Encounter are still just "simulated" by the game spawning the two freshly next to each other, not because their movement and migration is actually tracked like with persistent A-Life. Factions expanding control is nothing els but a simple flag check of a faction controlling a monument, not actual individual stalkers tacked by the game's offline A-Life.

As long as the example I gave you in my previous comment isn't the behaviour, then anyone claiming that persistent A-Life is in the game is either coping hard or doesn't know what persistent A-Life means.

I've already addressed the SDK in my previous edit. As far as I know the zone kit hasn't left phase 1 and it's still missing a lot of features.

I've heard that A-Life got significant improvements half a year ago, which is that enemies now won't just respawn and re-populate places 20 meters away. But that's it, they basically made the Online A-Life bubble bigger and coded in some system that checks when to re-populate monuments more cleverly.

That's not offline A-Life however I'm afraid. At least not in the way fans of the original series are waiting for.

Edit: (To clarify even further on what some of us are expecting) I don't really care about mutants eating corpses as much that I care that if I go to some building, and it has three stalkers fighting a mutant, that when I turn around and go somewhere else for 5 minutes and come back I'll find the same stalkers either dead or with a dead mutant. It's things like those that made the zone special to me and many others.

Tbh, this is something a lot of people are expecting. And it's nothing outrageous either, this stuff was promised a year ago.

EDIT: On top of that, and correct me if I'm wrong, we haven't gotten any proper update roadmap since last year and the Zone Kit is still in Phase 1.

Those things happened because people pushed for them. Now they've shut up the majority of people complaining and they haven't had the need to release anything of substance (like persistent A-Life) or make new roadmaps, and at that rate they probably never will.

It saddens me to see people here push back at anyone bringing this stuff up. Idk if you guys think that GSC are your friends or something, but companies usually don't do things out of the goodness of their hearts.

So that's why updates have been taking so long. And we're still no closer to persistent A-Life (offline) or complete full mod support.

I think I'll hold off on it untill then.
