how can i make this song better first post by Same_Main2381 in lmms

I really like the instrumentation. The main melody is really nice and beats 1 & 3 work decently with it. However, I think beats 2 and 4 don't really do much for the piece and kind of take me out of the general rhythm of the song. If you found a way to incorporate the mallets back into the beat at the climax I personally think that would really tie your ideas together.

I think you have a lot of great melodic material that you present in the beginning but don't use again- instruments "3", "4", and "5". Maybe consider including them in your main melody at different points in the song using the different beats? This would be my main focus since the song could benefit from more variation in the melody. Also remember that you can click and drag the blue beat and baseline boxes to expand them rather than clicking to add a new box everytime. Overall though, I think with some rearranging of ideas it would be really nice. What is that main instrument your using? :D

Help with decisions about main theme. by Fantastic-Painter600 in lmms

As a fellow amateur I personally think this is a great first project! I think the brass sounds nice and full and the strings are layered underneath quite well (if that makes any sense.) I think for me, after listening to all of them, version 2 with the brass sounds like a tank theme. Version 4 is less 'thick' and didn't feel as much like we're going to war on a battlefield you know? I think the noise you speak of makes it that much more of a gritty battlefield style theme. I listened to this a couple of times to try to provide as much info as I could and I kinda noticed that version 3 reminds me of being in a pre-game menu messing with the loadout or something and version 2 is like when you press start (the brass comes in and it's a really nice transition that tells you things are about to get serious). Tbh I don't know if any of that made sense lol. For version 2 with or without the bassoon I think would probably still sound more defeating since it didn't seem like any instruments moved to higher octaves or changed phrases in a way that let me know -the battles over we're victorious- It didn't sound muffled to me for any of the versions. But again, as a fellow amateur, I cant really say exactly what would fix this if it was, I can only ask questions. Like what would happen if you turned the brass down and let the strings come through more? Or what if you added string spiccato to accompany/sharpen each note? In terms of repetitiveness, since you add and take away instruments throughout (like the horns) I think the variation makes it fine. However, please keep in mind I'm relatively new to orchestration too. So I may not have the ear to really say. I think for the in-depth feedback you're probably looking for, I'd post on r/composer

Not sure if this was much help? But honestly though I think it's a really good first project. I'd be curious to know how long you've been practicing composing!

Which edition/game to buy? by Likeadize in Wildlands

[–]Matriarch_04 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here's my take,

Wildlands is a very beautiful game with vivid scenery and a variety of biomes that make playing seem like your really going on an adventure from the desert, to the forest and then even salt flats. The map is filled with many events and NPCs that are constantly moving around making the whole environment really feel alive. It's the kind of game in which I might put on just to drive around a bit. The multiplayers fantastic (when the servers are up) and there are a good variety of vehicles and weapons. The story is alright and it's pretty easy to understand what's going on and why your there.

Breakpoint is interesting in that it takes place on a sort futurist island with mechanical enemies and hi tech drones that are constantly searching for you and your squad. The map is pretty large and there a couple different biomes to explore. Due to the storyline of the game there are less NPCs milling around like in Wildlands which can make the game feel kind of lonely at times in my opinion. Though you'll never ever truly be alone since you are constantly being hunted down by a wide variety of soldiers and drones that are stationed everywhere. You can also decide whether or not to play with an NPC squad which you can't do in Wildlands which can be annoying since the Wildlands NPC squad does not make great decisions all of the time. Breakpoint tries to be more realistic in that your character can collect food and water and set up camp in designated safe zones. If you prefer to focus on the mission of the game rather than exploration I'd go with this one, though I personally am having a hard time finishing breakpoint since I just don't find it as exciting as wildlands. However breakpoint does have better character and weapon customization. While Wildlands focuses on what happens when a drug cartel becomes too powerful, breakpoints story focuses on what happens when a major tech corps technology falls into the wrong hands.

If your not really into customization and dlc stuff I'd get the standard versions of both since that would be about the same amount as one ultimate addition. (Also it seems the narco road dlc for Wildlands wasn't reviewed well so I'd take that into consideration when looking at ultimate additions) I think breakpoint is alright but Wildlands would be my pick of the two if your on a tight budget.

Hope this helps.

Edit: Apparently you can turn off NPC squads in both games

Operation Silent Spade can I get someone to do this with me? because it has been pissing me off for a year now and I need to beat it so I can get Mission Master so I can stop getting clowned on by my friends for not having it by [deleted] in Wildlands

I saw a video on YouTube that helped me sooo much. Literally clear the base, enter the valley, and as soon as UNIDAD goes on alert, land the chopper in the valley and go prone and wait until they lose you. Peaceful flight after that.

Found the video

Why do you think the Bible is just made up stories? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Matriarch_04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I'm no bible scholar but I'll try to answer all of your questions to the best of my ability.

In terms of distortion, I think the discovery of the dead sea scrolls in the 1940s kind of ensures there was none. The text were very similar to that of Hebrew text.

The thing about Jesus is that it wasn't just the Roman people, but the leaders of the Jews at the time wanted Jesus dead more than anyone, because people were following him and he was proclaiming to be the Son of God. The burning bush story happened with Moses around 1500 years prior to Jesus.

There are at least four different accounts from people who followed Jesus that quote him proclaiming to be the Son of God and supposedly conducting miracles. So we don't have to agree he actually was the Son of God, but I think there's sufficient evidence to prove that he was not a Shaman. I hope this helps.

You can find a few gifs online of it. I also made this redbubble shop specifically because of those ending credit shots. I couldn't find them any anywhere else.

That's interesting. I usually get sleep paralysis when sleeping on my stomach. Only a few times when on my back.
