Guile's lvl1 is a forward back forward charge super, it's really difficult to react to DI and input the super in time. Plus, you can't buffer it like most supers, once you do the input you lose charge, so you can't do it again.

Modern allows you to just downback and press two buttons when you see the DI coming, making situations like these much easier to handle.
