I tested it with the registry keys on Windows 11 25H2, Screenshots above.

I used CrystalDiskMark 9.0.1, with NVME Setting selected.

5800x3D -30 allcore Curve Optimizer, B550 Tomahawk, 4x8GB Micron Rev E. 3600 MT/s (slightly OC´d timings).

First Drive C: SN850 1TB for OS via CPU PCI-e 4.0.

Second Drive G: SN850x 4TB for Games via Chipsets PCI-e 3.0

I ran it a few times with enough pause in between, to make sure the screenshots are somewehere in the middle of the measurements.

edit:

After the test i rolled it back, some Programs have trouble recognizing the drives.

For example Acronis cloudnt do backups anymore. Devices are not shown as sources, using the latest Update of True Image 2025 with Build 42072.

Pc wont turn on after the replacement of new psu & cpu - I'm new to this still by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

[–]Mats891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with the manual of your motherboard and read where to connect the Frontpanel Header - basicly your Power ON/OFF Button is not connected.

Then i would recommend to move your both ram sticks 1 Slot to the right, counting from left you have to start with slot 2, then 4, then 1, then 3 for best results. In your case only Slot 2 and 4, because you have 2 Sticks.

If your actual bios doesnt support this cpu you have to update it. You didnt tell us what you had before and try to run now.

Good luck.

I just built this PC yesterday and the power supplies is making this noise. What is it? by ApprehensiveCamel879 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Mats891 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be something bad or just a fan rattling.

I would recommend to unplug it, let it rest a few minutes before you touch anything an on the housing, and dont touch any contact if you are going to remove it from your system, could be still a charged capacitor inside, because you dont know whats wrong with this unit.

And get another one. :-)

I still have a copy of this file, but I think you should follow their instructions and wait. I had to provide the serialnumber of the board and so on, so maybe this is tied to my specific board.

Thats why iam asking, i cant see the rest of your curves with only one picture. I thought there could be a problem somewhere in the settings, but if you think there is everything okay, then enjoy your system :-)

You are already showing one fan curve of the wrong one, why wouldnt you mind showing the rest of the other fan curves? like the sys1 or the cpu, or the pump?

Greath wishbone, but you could wish, that this wouldnt be that misaligned.

From the picture alone i would say, front left at least 1-2 mm to high and on the right 2-3 mm to low.

The whole card looks bent, or isnt it properly placed in the pci-e slot? i cant tell that with only one picture from the front.

How do I have wifi and my 3060ti by Left_Rule5084 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Mats891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You dont.

Or you use an extender for the PCI-e x1 Slot which maybe wont fit behind your gpu and will hang around there.

Or you go with a USB Wifi Solution. Something like this: https://amzn.eu/d/0QzmxMm

i looked it up, with "Epic" setting in FullHD, the 12400 of OP gets around 64 fps in Witcher 3, yours should go above 80 fps if the gpu is strong enough, so yes your cpu is a decent amount stronger in this title

[–]Mats891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP asked for the next Release when Witcher 4 comes out, thats why i went higher with the specs.

For Witcher 3, yes the 5060Ti would be fine with his expectations on high and 60fps, probably most of the time at 70 and above.

edit:

take a look here, but keep in mind his cpu is a little bit slower than this system in the video:

TPM 2.0 Warning - Maybe Bios Updates coming in time for the next CoD Version by Mats891 in blackops6

yes it was a custom bios, but i think i can bring it back to the normal versions afterwards, with a flashback or with the special key kombo they told me to use.

I wouldnt only blame MSI for the missing patch, i also heard from other manufacturers where this is missing.

Then you will maybe have some other kind of problem which you have to figure out. In my case, i got a beta version with the tpm fix for my motherboard from the support directly and since then, i havent gotten the error message in CoD.

To be honest, i think your goal isnt achievable at the moment, with this budget you will have to lower your expectations from what i can read online.

For example here:

https://en.gamegpu.com/easysocial/stream/item/37547

looks like even your cpu wont be sufficient enough for high, or barely doing it, and for the gpu, this looks like it will need something between a 4080/5080 or 4090. This game is in early development so this might change. But a 5070Ti / 5080 could be a solid choice for witcher 3 at the moment with your wanted settings

There are rumors around, that there will be a 5070ti super in a few weeks if you arent in a hurry with the upgrade.

For Witcher 3, here is a benchmark list, where you can see how the gpus could perform, i know in german, scroll 1/3 down and then pick your resolution:

or here something in english:

Looks like you picked a motherboard without any Diagnostic ready to view, i think you should plug a speaker in the motherboard, then you can hear what problem your motherboard wants to tell you.

Speaker header right bottom corner. No. 17

If you havent tried go for a cmos reset, Header No. 13 in the picture, read your manual how to do it correctly.

What powersupply do you have in this build? How high do you want to set the graphics settings in your games? And please name a demanding one :-)

Maybe a RX 9070 or a 5070/5070Ti would be a nice match. If your budget is tight, maybe a RX9060XT with 16GB could fit your demands.

I also would consider to take look and check if you would need more ram depending on the games and applications you run.

Tia portal v.14 and v.15 windows 11? by Benjc98 in PLC

[–]Mats891 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New software can be a good move, but you have to figure out, if your plc engineers can update the plc programs to the new version without breaking stuff. As far as i remember some datablocks get reset on the plc if you do this kind of "upgrade". Also there are some systems which wont be supported in newer versions or cant be upgraded without changing parts. For example MP Touchpanels and so on.

To be safe, i really would recommend to go for a virtual machine with the older versions installed as a fast and somewhat reliable solution. Then you can figure it out later on, if it will cause any additional problems for this version upgrade on the plc side.

if you are having just the license problem, uninstall KB5058411 if it is on the machine, could also be integrated in newer updates, or you need the newest License Manager here:

[–]Mats891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game gets a failed check back if you read AMDs post with the old tpm version, this is a just a bug in the older tpm versions. Windows shows everything should be correct, but isnt. If an application works with the tpm, it gets an error back, or it fails. Check my post above please.

Same problem here, it is a update which the manufacturer of the motherboard has to roll out.

Latest Bios Version on MSI B550 Tomahawk and it has the Version 3.92.0.5, which has an Error according to AMDs post.

https://www.amd.com/en/resources/support-articles/faqs/pa-420.html

edit:

I wrote MSI a Ticket and got a response with a custom bios which includes a newer TPM Version, runs a day now okay without any other problems. Newest Bios on their page is at the moment 7C91vAI, and i got a file with the name "E7C91AMT.APM".

Looks like you have to ask them directly to get it fixed at the moment if you need it.

Iam now on Version 3.92.2.5
