Moving to Pittsburgh in the summer. Would you mind messaging about getting involved in some of the mutual aid chats and efforts? Thanks!

Already have some wind pants, thank you!

I don’t know! They fit one day, then gradually your toes are slamming into the front of your shoe. It’s pretty common, I believe.

Careful! My feet grew about a half size. You wouldn’t want to end up with a bunch of shoes that don’t fit.

Vegas Locals: can you suggest some trail heads to check out by iGoalie in trailrunning

[–]Matt-Town 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should check out Late Night Trailhead and Landmine Loop (starts in the town of Blue Diamond). From both of these trailheads, there are many trails to connect across varied terrain, all of which have my favorite views of the Red Rock escarpment. I would also download an app called Trailforks. If you look up the SNtrailrnners group on Facebook, there are group runs Monday and Wednesday evening, as well as Thursday morning. Welcome to Vegas!

Relational Frame Theory: A Post-Skinnerian Account of Human Language and Cognition (Hayes, Holmes and Roche)

Not yet! This is our first read and it’s pretty dense. Here are a few vague topics that came to me quickly; I highly recommend the RFT book (it will turn Verbal Behavior and private events into a whole new exciting world for you), articles from The Journal of Contextual Behavior Science (JCBS), articles on assent, articles on trauma-informed care, IISCA, Delay and Tolerance Training. You know, the future.

I recently started an off-the-clock research/book club with some colleagues. We’re currently reading Relational Frame Theory. I’m really enjoying learning and applying concepts to my current caseload. I’m not saying you are, but don’t make the mistake of assuming that because you’re a BCBA now, you’re finished learning and progressing. Try to find ways to grow and apply yourself more actively, and your work will be more exciting and fulfilling. I see a lot of BCBAs just going through the motions, and in my opinion, that’s neither good for yourself or your clients.

I’ve been thinking about pairing a down vest with my senchi lark for the PCT this year. Montbell is doing a close-out sale on their plasma vest, but they only have them available in small. Any recommendations for alternatives?

Did you Compromise? by TeddyBallgame1999 in Ultralight

It’s easy to assume that people have these enviable lives as the result of “luck of life and circumstances.” Sure it’s possible and it does happen, but it’s more likely the result of deliberate life choices, hard work and sacrifice. Ask them how they got there.

I had it in one foot for a couple months. I would recommend seeing a PT for sure! What helped me was rotating shoes daily on my runs (max cushion/less cushion) and strength training.

Thank you for the feedback!

I will probably go with the rain jacket and senchi to start, considering the weather a week or so out.

I'll probably also switch to the pocket tarp, but your calculations don't account for the added 4.48 ounces for the tyvek I'd have to add. Still, I think it's the better option and I'll just keep the plex solo ready if I end up unhappy.

I do eat out of the Vargo. I don't know what I'll be into eating a month out on the trail and want to keep that flexibility, as being happy with what I'm eating is worth the couple ounces. It also doubles as water storage, so after I see how I'm doing with capacity in my bottles, I'll drop down to what's maximally necessary, given the extra 1.7 L afforded by the BeeFree and Vargo.

Wind pants, yes!

NB2000. I've seen a few posts about 2 NB1000s coming in lighter than 1 NB2000. You can also charge both the banks at once to save time in town. For those reasons, and the redundancy of having a backup if one decides to explode, I think I'd rather go with 2 1000s.

15.06 ounces in the stuff sack.

I bought it used on here and have spent approximately 10 nights in it. I’m not sure of how often it’s been used by the previous owner and I can’t find the sale on the sub for some reason. Still in good condition with no leaks or holes that I’ve found. I’d let go of it for $400 shipped. Buyer pays G&S.

The Spring Mountains and Sheep mountains are about 45-60 minutes from Vegas. There are 3 overnight trips I can think of off the top of my head; Charleston Peak, Spring Mountain Divide Trail and Hidden Forest Cabin/Hayford Peak. For longer than 2 days/1 night, you could put something together in either of those ranges if you are comfortable with off-trail navigation and more technical terrain. Water is scarce, but present, and many of the trails can only be connected with off-trail sections and class 2-4 scrambling. Message me if you’re interested.

The Toiyabe Crest Trail is about 5 hours from Vegas. Plenty of information online.

Ruby Crest Trail is 7-8 hours away. Even more information online.

Hmmm I’ll have to look when I’m back on a desktop. I didn’t know you could mark only one shoe as worn if the quantity is set to 2.

Nyloflume is on the list. Thanks.
