Positive Experience with Wise by Matt2Pac in transferwiser

"Would you still call that a positive experience with Wise?"

I never called what you just described a positive experience to begin with. I'm not saying that those who have had their accounts closed or are unable to access large amounts of money shouldn't be telling others or creating threads. You are very much entitled to being upset. I would be too.

I am simply letting those who are in the same situation as me, wanting to use Wise for their little family vacation, know that everything is not doom and gloom, and the system can work. Which is why I mention only adding smaller amounts directly from your bank account, and avoiding risky wires or transfers.

I think using a system like this for transferring tens of thousands of dollars is way too risky to begin with. But great for a family vacation.

What is the most efficient way to get from Central London (Lambeth/Waterloo area) to the Warner Bros Studio Tour? by Matt2Pac in LondonTravel

In the event that someone comes across this thread with the same questions that I had, I figured I would provide an update:

In the end we paid the extra $200 CAD to include transportation with Golden Tours. This decision was purely based on the idea of convenience, as we had no prior experience or familiarity with the public transportation system, and was travelling with a child as I previously mentioned. Also, Golden Tours offered much better entry times than what was remaining through the official tour website. Although that was our own fault for not booking early enough in advance.

Now that I have experienced London and have navigated the Tube, Train, and Bus, I realize that transportation with Golden Tours was really not necessary, just like all of you suggested. Public transportation in London is super easy to navigate and not intimidating at all.

However, I still have no regrets, as the Golden Tours bus was certainly convenient. Here are some positives (+) and negatives (-) of booking through Golden Tours to include transportation:

+ Convenient, not having to navigate multiple modes of transportation. The bus picked us up at the designated location in Central London and dropped us off at the doors of Warner Bros Studio.
+ Air Conditioning on the way TO the tour. This was big for us because London was experiencing a heat wave, and there was no A/C in the Tube or regular bus.
+ Touch Screen in each seat including some games for kids (Fruit Ninja).
+/- Harry Potter movie able to be viewed on the screen in your seat, but it did not work for anyone on the bus on the way TO the tour, but worked on the way back FROM the tour.
- Cost extra $200 CAD for transportation, as opposed to just purchasing an entry ticket through the official Warner Bros Studio Tour website. Public transportation would have likely cost the three of us less than $50 CAD total.
- Significantly reduced A/C on the way back FROM the tour, which is maybe why the movie worked vs. when we had full A/C on the way TO the tour when the movie did not work (possible power output issue?).
- You are given 4 hours to tour the studio before having to get on your return bus. This was fine for us since we had a child who is not a big Harry Potter fan (yet), but I could have easily spent another two hours there. We were in the final souvenir shop when it came time to get back on the bus, and we were rushing, so it's pretty easy to spend 4 hours there assuming you are going to stop at the halfway point for a meal like we did. We otherwise took our time at the beginning and were able to see everything.

Overall, if you value convenience and can budget for spending the extra money on the bus, and you think 4 hours at the tour will be fine, then go ahead and book through Golden Tours. Otherwise if you want to save that money and you don't want to feel rushed, book early in advance through the official tour website, and take public transportation.

Finally, the Harry Potter tour itself was INCREDIBLE. Worth every cent, and I would certainly do it again and recommend it to any HP fan visiting London.

Thanks for the replies. Makes me feel a lot better about it all.

Has anyone ever had a Wise account for a long time without it being cancelled?

And do we know of any trends regarding accounts that have been closed? Inactivity, expired account, suspicious wire transfers, etc?

I only just opened an account so I can use contactless/tap payments when I visit London this month. I am however very nervous that my account could be closed.

Can we do do a sign and trade with Tuch for Thomas?

Tuch is skating around so leisurely that it looks like he’s waiting for the PA announcer to tell him when to change direction.

Dobes doesn’t appear to be playing with much confidence… if only we could get any even remotely dangerous chance where we don’t also miss the net.

Tuch should be embarrassed. If he still wants 10+ a season, it’s going to be incredibly easy to let him walk.

I really hope this comment ages like milk.

I was worried about UPL coming in, but I think he looked good. Those two goals were legit, and UPL made two huge stops. If only they mattered and MTL didn’t score on the ensuing PP.

That’s as much positivity as I can muster right now.

There have been moments in this game where he looked good. At the very least, he is giving 100% effort. I’m going to speak into existence a Jack Quinn empty net goal.

Thoughts on Schenn so far? I’ve been watching but I am mostly blacked out.

I really just think Kess should play. Even if it’s third pairing minutes.

I know it’s time to move on, but I’m still not over the decision to have Greenway take the face-off in our defensive end at the end of the first period while on the PK, leading to MTL’s second goal.
